Why woulod they want to?? it would be like building new refineries.. WHY?? Spend Billions of dollars on something that will reduce their profits???? Wouldn't make sense. I blame our government, not oil companies, for the high prices.

Here is what gets me. The government in their meddling ways can stop a strike. Last example, a judge put an injunction on the NW flight attendants from striking during the 1113c filing. The reason is the public can't have an interruption to commerce, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Now we untold number of Airlines along with all the ASMs that go with it heading right towards the cliff into the airline abyss. Where's the government action now. There will probably not be any.

They meddle, only when it suits them and their big business lobby.

I've already seen/heard the distant drum beat of relaxing foreign ownership laws. Once this Pandora box is open, you can pretty much kiss your career goodbye. They way of the shipping indsutry. It's coming. It was just published the other day how KLM was willing to invest $750 million into DL/NW, but that pesky little ownership law.
