A JetBlue pilot was mugged and is in the hospital in NY. The official details are thin, but it appears he was robbed and ended up in the hospital with broken facial bones. At around 2am, after getting in late, he was walking to get some pizza (Dani's?) and was attacked along the way. He was knocked unconscious and left on the sidewalk, and doesn't remember the attack.

No word on his name or initials, yet. This guy's life is going to be seriously messed up for a while.

Let's be careful out there!

Was this in the Five Points Motel area? It's a common crash pad area for JFK commuters.

Sorry to hear. Been to Dani's a bunch of times. Good pizza real late. I grew up in the ajacent neighborhood of Forest Hills. Never considered that that area was plagued with crime. Futher down Lefferts (towards Richmond Hill), it "can" get bad. Must've been that big pilot watch. j/k. Hope he recovers quickly and feels better.

That's just a couple blocks north of Lefferts and Metro. Historically not a bad area, but you never know. Personally I would never be walking around anywhere in Queens at that hour unless I had a real good reason, I wasn't alone, and I was armed.

I hope he recovers quickly.

What I hope happens to the scum that tried to kill him is unprintable and unspeakable in polite company.

If you mean the 5-Towns Hotel, that's no where near the Kew Gardens area. Kew Gardens has many many crashpads. The 5-Towns area I'd say is quite a bit "rougher" from a crime standpoint. I'd be loath to go outside the 5-Towns Hotel after dark alone.

Ohhhh yeah. That area is much more crime-ridden. The Five Towns Inn SE of JFK is NOT a safe area. Kew Gardens is considered much nicer than that area by far. Still has it's bad areas, further south though.

Yes, I meant 5 Towns. Been a while. Thanks for the heads up. Either way it's tragic. Reminds me of the UAL new hire in DEN that got mugged. Wonder how he's doing as well.

Who got punched in Cancun?

Cancun...old story. Bar talk got out of hand or something. Handshakes have been made and the matter was resolved with everyone's job intact. Not much more to tell...

Very good. Thanks. Brought back memories of the USAir/SWA punchout in the PHL foodcourt a few years ago...

i wanna hear that story....pray tell

Shortly after SWA started flying into PHL, a USAir cockpit crew was walking into the PHL food court for lunch when a SWA F/O walked past and informed them that they worked for a "loser outfit". The Capt, wasting no time, then punched the SWA F/O in the nose. Security (Phila. Police) was called, and upon hearing both sides, found the provocation provided by the SWA F/O to be sufficient for a punch in the nose, and told everyone to go their seperate ways and not cause any more trouble.

THATS EFFIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! respect or get K.T.F.O!!!!

I get pretty bummed out every time I hear about a mugging like this. It is a shame that the BG's never seem to get a bullet in their head.

I would never shed a tear for the mugger. Kill 'em and kill 'em often if at all possible. Remember, it's likely only the OLD LADY will miss 'em, and prly not even that since she got wacked hookin! See a mugger, kill a mugger!

Sorry to hear about the jB pilot.... similiar crime happen to a UAL pilot in Denver...

Has anyone checked McCain's where abouts and alibi?

Finally, if a fund is up for the jb pilot, please post where we can donate....

Let's see. USAir Captain and SWA F/O.

Must have looked like a Grandfather beating up his Grandkid.

OK, Im a dumba$$.....what the hell was I thinking. I will try to find out about something for the pilot. Thats what I get for reading 2 threads at the same time....my bad.

So have the jB pilots created a help fund for this guy?

I'd gladly send him a gift card for Target or a gas station...

I had posted a reply to this a few days ago...My bad, I posted the wrong link and was reading 2 posts at once. For some reason, the moderators here decided to delete my post. There was no language issue or topic issue...I know but its not here now. What the hell?

According to CP I just flew with the company bought his trips for two months.

He is doing OK. Got banged up pretty good and will be out for several months. Luckily he has other ways to support himself in addition to JB, but JB has been very good to him.
