What in the world made you believe that there was ever going to be a "potential great payoff????!!"

Everything that name, (us air) has ever touched, has turned into shi*. Which airline have you been watching??

You say tomato, I say tomahto...

I appreciate your valuable input. Your erudition has profoundly enhanced our knowledge of the intricate relationship between US and the WOs.

Now put down that Natty Ice and head off to bed. Tool.

We all understand that US Airways basically sucks (along with a few others). But it sure is better then a career in a 37 Seat TurboProp for most. Hence the "potential great payoff".

Before the Age 65 rule US Airways had a bunch of retirements and could have been a good gig in the fact if you could get in earlier.

I beg to differ, even with the commute the airways job out west was better than the PDT gig any day. Even as short as it's lasting.

To me, it would smack of hipocracy and I simply couldn't bring myself to do it lacking a comprehensive flow/flush agreement that would ensure the rights of PDT pilots currently on the property.

Who is to say that can't happen? I, regrettably, have more to lose than mere days off than most other captains here- I am in the bottom 10 or so of the list. I face certain downgrade if we brought them back.

I say do it, and fairly. What? Yup. Back to hind teat. 20K raise, 20K lost all in half a year. Beats the living shizzle out of 40K loss, then another 36K loss in half a year.

What would be hilarious is if we opened the doors to all of them, interviewed 20 and allowed only the PDT guys to sit back in their seats. Preferential job back, much?

And by the way, Ponder- ahh, nevermind. AMF.

You are a very generous and a truly stand up guy Sig............

Tweaker right from your own words. I have no problem with you folks coming back, only unil the proper flow is enacted.

Until then I hope this process can get rolling just a little faster and you folks won't be on the street long(but we all know how long this has already been dragged out).
Even though you might not believe me, I do know most that left for mainline and wish you folks the best. And if all this gets worked out before you get furloughed the better.

I don't know how you got it in your head that anyone would flow down without a bi-directional flow agreement in writing. I never said it, and it is an all or nothing proposition, of course. The whole thing is a travesty and creating yet more animosity among the pilots. This is not an accident, but rather the intention of management. This is why the potential off the street new hires were NOT told that they may be placed below any CEL flow ups. Free pilot discord!

As far your your sh1tty comment about "dancing" back to the left seat at PDT. You have it quite wrong. There is very little dancing going on in my household. The thought of returning to PDT is not a dream but closer to a nightmare scenario. Be that as it may, when one has a mortgage and children to feed, it is time to man up and fulfill your obligations. Am I violating any sense of morality, contracts, or union brothahood? Not even a little.

then it has obviously been a while since you worked at the US Wo's. 13 days off was a good month and if captains worked their a## off all year they could plan on topping 80k. Junior mans were constant, the training department was at times punitive, and vacation sucked. Even with all our problems on the west there is no comparison.

I don't work that hard and should make somewhere in the high 90k's on 4th year pay with decent schedules and 21 days of vacation. I've never been junior assigned (unheard of at PDT), can call in sick without fear of having too many 'occurences,' and generally don't work all that hard. Sure AWA is not Fedex or SWA by any means but it is still night and day when you compare it to the regionals. We quickly forget how bad things sucked at our last jobs...

As far as your Sh1tty comment on Piedmont being a nightmare. Well if you're worried about f'uk'in paying the mortgage or feeding your children I don't think I would be calling Piedmont a nightmare scenario!!!!! If that was the case I would be calling it a blessing!!!!!!

Wow, now I really want you too return to your nightmare!

Very well said....If the regionals are such a d@mn nightmare....Why do you mainline folks want to come back....Do us all a favor and go to Walmart instead....

You never wanted us back, Billiam. You just faked it for a while.

Shh.

They're listening, man! For every name on that list, their gamble got me to the left seat. I don't think there is an easy solution, but I'm certain there are several... one of them might make great sense.

I'm for it. Who knows what will happen.

Not when you factor in the intangibles it doesn't . As a matter of fact, it doesn't even come close.

Since when is ALPA a union?

HAHAHA!! That is the only non slanted statement I have heard in the world of slander and rumors we all call Flight Info, aka "a credible source of mine told me...."

Hey "Sue" - why don't you stick to what you know best. That would be boring captains about the good ole days at Air Whiskey, watching your team lose to BC and getting it on with your cousin (you know, Matt from Minot).

Zaahlie - that sucks what is happening to you guys. I wish you guys the best. If I had stayed another month there I would be in your shoes right now. I just dropped by your old crash pad today in the noke. I hope Net Jets picks you up. But truth be told, I'd love to have one more leg in the Dash. But preferably, not a Engine Failure-Prop Doesn't Feather at 200 feet out of PHF at 0600 because then you'd have to make me another omlette.

Surf - I know where you're coming from. I hate to say this now that i left, but it seems that PDT will be around a long time. You were smart not to leave. But then again, if oil was $70 a barrel and we caught Osama and age 65 was repealed...then not so much.

Good luck to everyone in this stupid industry

Anybody have any details on the flow meeting?

Yes and it is as expected, minus one turd and plus another.

This is only the companies COUNTER PROPOSAL and NOT an agreement of any kind. In fact, to call it a proposal at all is disingenous at best, as it is a fly covered piece of excrement.

NO REQUIREMENT TO INTERVIEW for flow back - joy

NEW HIRE SENIORITY

NEW HIRE LONGEVITY

YOU WILL BE ON PROBATION

IF TERMINATED FROM EXPRESS CARRIER, RECALL RIGHTS AT US AIRWAYS MAINLINE ARE TERMINATED AS WELL - nice touch, eh?

This is an abomination, resembles a flow agreement not at all, and will most likely be decided ultimately by an arbitrator or a judge (in 2009). Unfortunately, the mainline is in negotiations right now, so there is no generousity, decency or quarter given by management.

Essentially, thanks for your (in some cases 20+) years of service, now get in the back of the bus like the 200 hour wonder cherubs.

To be continued.

I knew USAPA would come through for us!

Captz -- man I wish you would have supported one or the other. We just needed about 250 more votes for ALPA and ALPA would have prevailed in the election. Not that ALPA is the end all, cure all, but sure better than the joke of USCABERsville.

Now with UCRAPPER running the show, we are all doomed during this downturn. Oil at 140 a barrel and the West being furloughed at a 10% rate while the East gets by with less than a 4% rate. Dudes out West that had a job at the time of the merger being let go, while East coast guys who were furloughed back in May of 05, get to stay. I lose my job to some dude that didn't even have a job. How fair is that? That is why folks are throwing the scab thing around. East coast recallees (since the merger date, May 05) who continue to work when West Coast pilots get furloughed (in about 80 days) will be taking the job filled by an active pilot. It is going to be a ruinous issue.

What is UCRAPPERs take on the issue? Silence. Why – it is exactly what UCRAPPER wants – to disenfranchise the West, so the East can benefit. Actually they said “we can’t do anything about management’s decision" … oh sure, it is just management’s fault. Spin city, from Crapersville. The boys running the farce of a union are soon going to be overwhelmed. The minute the first West dude gets furloughed, it will galvanize the remaining 1700 AWA pilots to the realization of the absolute disaster this has become. The apathy and silence displayed by the wall hugger dudes out East only contribute to the problem. Please stand up and be heard.

Only one winner. Management. I’ll say it again, Management wins and we lose.

Some union – it is no union, it is a joke. Fair Representation, no way. Binding arbitration – unless you don’t like the outcome. This was supposed to be a merger between two airlines. We didn’t try to take over or take advantage of the East – heck AWA paid your payroll the last two weeks so US could stay in business and avoid CH 7. Sure there is pain our West now, but more disappointment is coming to the East. It is so sad that it has come to this. West would support even %s of furloughs to keep the company afloat, but UCrapper doesn’t want that.

20 months until UCRAPPSville can be voted off. Please vote next time. Apathy is worse than anything. Don't disengage, be part of the solution. The airline is doomed if it is East vs. West forever, and right now with UCRAPPSville's silence on Management's use of separate East and West lists (even though they have the combined list) and absolutely no progress on a new contract, well it just goes to show they are in over their heads. East will remain on the LOA contract until UCRAPPER is voted off or until the entire ship goes down. I’d like to say ya’ll are getting your wish of “full pay to the last day” and burn the mother down. But unfortunately you are getting Bankruptcy pay until the last day, but you may indeed succeed at burning the mother down – unless the West beats you too it now due to the furlough issue. May God save the Queen, the United States of American, and have something left to help the new US Airways stay afloat. He is about the only dude that can save us now. I’d like to have something to come back too.

Have you guys heard anything about USAPA wanting to use everyone's first DOH at a Part 121 job for the new combined list?

Kinda like what Mainline gave you for your 20 years plus of service to a company you already work for (your 20 plus years at a wo didn't mean sh#t basically). So what did you get for over 20 years? A seniority number lower then Mesa folks hired off the street. Basically back at the end of the bus.

Are you really shocked at all? Come on Mr. Hanky, look at all the CEL guys at mainline that aren't gonna get furloughed. What a waste that list was.

FUBAR!

Tweaker,
something doesn't look right here. I don't doubt
what you say, but you must have a source close to the negotiations. Presumably you have interviewed
at PDT once in the past sucessfully, so the only advantage you are offered is something you have
already done. Who is giving you this info? It looks like to me that you are saying the company does not
want a flow through. I don't think the company cares
one way or the other. I don't understand what
possible advantage you would be getting from going
back to PDT on the bottom of the list. Not intended
as flame, it's just that anybody can apply and inter-
view there, so why negotiate that? I don't get it. But
maybe I am missing something.

being furloughed sucks and I wish you the best.
-Ponder

WSurf is right....20 years at PDT or ALG didn't get those guys squat at mainline....Why do mainline folks think they should get anything at the regionals......We all made this bed folks....time to lay down.....

Suppose there is a combined contract when the recalls occur. Who d'ya suppose gets the first callback?

I'll give ya 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count.

At least with ALPA you could get mad and recall your reps. USAPA appoints reps and doesn't hold elections until the damage is done by guys no one elected. And they decide to hold everything in "Executive Session" (Backroom deal) so that no one is held accountable.

Yeah, it's way better than ALPA (not!)
