If you look real close, you may be able to see the puppet strings on certain airline Captains.

wow that was interesting. Mr. Oberstar was not very happy with Moak and his what seemed to be canned responses. To clarify i am not bashing moak but thats exactly what it looked like.

With Delta paying DALPA all merger related expenses, it is clear that Moak is just a medium for the New Delta message.

I enjoyed the "overweight" DAL pilot behind Stevens. Perfect example of why not to wear a double breasted suit. Seems the eating is good in Washington and New York.

Heyas,

Hey guys, best leave this alone for the time being. We will know THIS week if DAL ALPA and DAL management are serious.

If it is TRUE that the DAL MEC is simply a negotiating proxy for DAL management, then any agreement NWA ALPA reaches with their DAL counterparts should be approved VERY quickly by DAL/NWA management.

If not, then all bets are off, and it will be a long, hot summer. At that point, whether or not DALPA is complicit DAL management's effort to "string us along" won't really matter.

I think we will reach a TA proposal with DALPA quickly, but that an actual agreement with DAL management over a TA will take much longer. They are already on record as wanting "harmonization" over several years.

DALPA can look like good guys while being quite happy to see (or facilitate) an actual TA being elsuive......they have already shown thier hand in wanting to delay as long as possible in the hope we bleed out and there is less NWA to have to integrate.

When you hear Moak speak are Richard Anderson's lips moving?

And I can't wait to see the SLI as Relative Seniority, and with fences around the 744s, 777s, 764s, A330s, your 18 787s, 767ERs, and DC9s. That will be fantastic.

And some deserve Oscars

I don't think anyone should draw conclusions from congressional hearings -- they are staged performances. The witnesses are just scenery, and the ones asking questions are the real actors.

Whats going to be fantastic is when your MEC is going to have to eat his words and explain himself to the Delta pilots after his testimony

I can't wait for that. Anyways......... And, it will be relative seniority. Thank gawd I am at about the 50% mark. DC9 Captain DTW here I come....(there is no way I want to be on a bus over there, I am very "suspect" about the training on that equipment)

Isn't Occam an A320 Sim guy? Exactly. That guy thinks he knows everything, and that is questionable at best. But, he is RISIBLE.......Sounds like just the type of training anyone would like. I would probably be rolling my eyes constantly.

Not sure if Occam is a NATCO guy or not but I think he'd be a pretty cool dude to have as an instructor. Good luck on the DC-9. Remember it's summer, so if you go on a three day be sure to pack at least five shirts.

Wow, No wonder why the NWA pilots are hesitant to trust the DAL pilots?

Don't forget the 319/320's.

I thought RA said no fences, and good little Deltoids do what managment tells them to?

Actually, I don't really know if the DC9s will be around when that SLI gets worked out. By then I will hold the 737-800 in the left seat, and it will pay more. After doing this INTL stuff with one leg a day max, I think I will go for the 738, with maybe two max.

That's not how it ended in the last SLI meeting. It ended with a "so called" agreement that there would be fences around those aircraft. And, an arbitrator would probably throw fences in there regardless, which I think would be ok, especially around those DC9s.

Actually, that was pretty much agreed upon during the last SLI meeting. A SLI was NOT agreed upon, but a fencing of certain planes was. An arbitrator would probably throw them in also. Sounds good to me.

Hahahahahaha.... Oh, man.... I just can't.... For the love of..... General Lee..... hahahaha......

Of all people... for YOU to accuse anyone of thinking they know everything.....

Entirely too much.... Thanks for the laugh though. That's the single funniest post you ever made on this board.

I guess you guys still can't detect sarcasm from GL.

Sarcasm generally requires subtlety, a trait the General is noticeably short on. Got plenty in the asshat and inflated ego departments though....

Doesn't your fish tank need cleaning, General?

Actually a relative list with dynamic overlay would work well, and would have were it not for Moak's insistence on double standard factoring of apples to oranges to give you an effective 1000 phantom pilots to go relative with.

Once we get a true apples to apples formulation (which an arbitrator will likely do, and the reason Moak fears it) a SLI should be relatively easy, and I agree that conditions and restrictions will likely make the transition easier, but I doubt it will be the pillaging you imagine.

Moak doesn't fear arbitration, he just isn't used to it like your guys, who couldn't negotiate their way out of a paper bag without "observers." Heck, the first thing your guys said at our first meeting was "ok, which arbitrator are we going to pick?" They can't negotiate, and it is obvious. They weren't prepared, and they don't trust themselves. And, if arbitration is ANYTHING like Nicelau's deal----it will be relative seniority. If you are 50% (like I am), you will likely be 50% at a merged company. I too can see some fences, with the 744s being at the top, and DC9s at the bottom. Yep, gotta fence those planes too----we wouldn't want any of our junior guys furloughed on something that they never intended to fly(the DC9), just like the 744 and the super senior folks staying on those...... Sounds fair to me.

If you take me seriously all the time, then that is your fault. I enjoy this board for the entertainment value, and I do learn things from time to time. Don't make me talk you off a ledge or anything like that.....easy man, relax.....

Why would you bleed out? Don't you have a large order of 787s and a very flexible fleet?

I doubt there will be pillaging also.

BTW, Delta recently took delivery of two phantom 777LRs, 17 crews/aircraft. Delta will take delivery of 6 more in the next year. :)

WOW I can't believe I am going to say this but in this case I agree with you. Too many people take this board too seriously.
