What's up with NWA's FA's???

So, this is the 3rd or 4th time in a row this has happened: We're traveling internationally on NWA, and these old, crusty FA's are very unprofessional and unfriendly. Some observations:
- Pax has some kind of question, FA snaps back.
- Pax flags FA down. FA states "I'll be right back", never to return.
- Cheesy smiles all around.
I understand these are very senior FA's who, more than likely, hate coming to work. It's a shame though, that the "face" of NWA is presented this way.

It ain't just NWA. Just try flying from ATL to Europe on any weekday. The "Munich on Monday" crowd collectively have a combined seniority number of around 500, with bad attitudes to match.

At one time MSP / LGW had a group called the Witch's of Gatwick. Monday Tuesday Wednesday 3 day trip. Even Anderson knew who they were.

Travelling on redtail right after the merger with Delta was publically announced and the in-flight service was lacking juice and diet soda. When the guy behind me asked the hag serving us why no juice she snapped: "Coffee and water only because that's the way it's going to be now with Delta in charge!"

They're paid so little they subsidize the company.

Hard to be happy when you're basically working for tough-to-use standby flight privileges.

Take tiny salary, less taxes, less uniforms, less whats' not covered by weak health coverage, less cost to get to and from the airport, etc, etc. It's a zero sum game. If you throw in the cost of feeding oneself and putting a roof over ones head, they have to be going negative financially. I don't understand why they show up at all.

Though it doesn't excuse the schmidty service, I'd be willing to bet there's a connection.

JFK to Europe on who?? You'd be lucky to have 1 non crusty F/A from JFK to Europe, and no different than NWA... Crusty is Crusty.. Maybe 1 or 2 in 10 flights you may see someone not so crusty with a smile. Other than that, they are crusty, dont smile, huff and puff. Its bull sh1t to see someone pay 4ooo plus dollars to sit in first class be taken care of, or not taken care of by some crusty F/A that should be at home knitting some sweater or rug or some sh1t..

Well maybe the wester most countries like shannon etc.. and you had one flight... i would have to say from experience you hit your one out of ten for the month.. i guess if internationally you go somewhere undesired, your in great shape, good service. If you go anywhere else, good luck.. Bring your own food, drinks and amenities, that way you wont have to deal with the crabby crusty a$$ F/A. Pax will always dig younger kinder F/A's. No one I know whats a crusty hag giving them attitude or a half a$$ service after paying thousands of dollars to go first class to europe and back. If you want better service, younger cabin staff, use Emiritaes or someone like that.. your odds are better

your point is well taken, there is a good amount of unfit pilots out there... but in reality when I am a paying passenger, I am paying for the pilots fat or skinny or ugly a$$ to get me from point A to point B safely.. I am not paying them to open up the flight deck door and come out and give me my coke, or any sort of cabin service.. F/A are in direct contact with the pax.. they are not only cabin staff, they are a direct line of advertising for the airline.. i would suspect someone would probably look at his or her fat pilot and not say, "damn he is fat, lets not fly on this airline again!", but would mind if his or her crusty F/A gives them attitude and poor service for the next few hours..

Friendly or not, I'll take a rude 19 year old FA over anything pleasant beyond 30. Way easier on the eyes.

if this is not mature enough for you, dont read it dude or dudette.... it is what it is... people dont want old a$$ rude Ensure drinking people serving on them... and yes as an industry our pay sucks, and no one is looking down on anyone, but guess what they choose to become F/A's. Part of that role is to be kind and courtious and sell your company...if you really wanted to make it better, hire a bunch of hot female strippers.. then you would get more business men paying top dollar for their tickets, your alcohol sales would sky rocket, terrorism would come to an end cuz they would be to affraid of seeing a naked woman, and you wouldnt have to pay your F/A's cause they would do well in tips alone.. cost saving, generate more business and protect you from terrorist all in one move.. u probably dont agree so grab your back pack and doc martens and enjoy serving drinks in the back..
