AA AFW-MIA - empty ?

just curious, is this thing flying to MIA empty out of AFW? Or is this a cargo charter, etc?

AFW is the heavy mx base for AA 777's. There's no TSA security there for pax flights and I doubt there would be any freight either.

I'm surprised they don't do a revenue flight to DFW and then a short ferry to AFW.

You'd be surprised by a lot of stupid stuff American does for ferry flights....lots of TUL-JFK or MIA-TUL on the A300 for regular MX...nope...can't stop in DFW ad drop a load of folks off....ferried empty both ways!

Turns out an internal study showed...With ticket prices so low they'll lose less money flying it empty than with all the additional pax weight leading to higher fuel burn
