Lear jet formation?

I'm not certain they were lear jets...but today over west Chicago 'burbs while playing tennis....two biz jets in tight formation flew over. Is this something ordinarily done by the military versions? Or was it just civi with the proper authorization?

It was cool...never seen the biz jets in that tight formation.

They were probably Beechjets. Look up the T-1. Its a military trainer.

Man I wish I had the opportunity to fly formation in a jet! I really miss flying formation, used to do it quite frequently in Cessnas.

Very likely Phoenix, or some T-1s as mentioned. Phoenix does much lear contract for mil. But since when do you need authorization to fly in formation?

I believe it was T-1s. They were parked at Mercury Aviation at MDW on Thursday.
