TOKYO, May 14 (Reuters) - Japan Airlines Corp (JAL) (9205.T: Quote, Profile, Research), Asia's biggest airline by revenue, said on Wednesday it planned a 5 percent cut in salaries and benefits for most of its employees to lower annual personnel costs by 10 billion yen ($96.4 million)......I wonder how much that CEO took for a cut?

The nice thing about Jap upper management and law makers is that when they fail big-time, they go out back and hang themselves.

I wish our CEO's did that.

Ownership of generating profit. Airline doesn't make money = you don't make money.

All I can say is
Welcome to the civilian side.
Great choice
Good luck with plan C man.

Insider,
First of all I don't think missing my paycheck would be hard to do for long...I guess you like your wages and will be inclined for no reform because you have adapted to poverty. Second, I would venture to guess someone like you would have no problem screwing fellow pilots just to get a wage...hell...I would say you would easily cross a picket line. Instead of arguing with me, it would be nice to hear nothing from you or some type of positive feedback on a viable alternative.

se1776,
Its people like you that make our industry so hard to progress. You are all knowing by the sound of it...tell me YOUR plan to get status back to this job and let management know who is really boss.

So, unless I agree with you I should just shut up? Your actions will do nothing but prove to management that you and I ain't worth jack. They already know what we can/can not do and by calling in sick/holding our breaths/flying slower/delaying a flight, the train will keep on rollin'. Get used to it or get out. That's the reality but if you want to kick and scream as you go down, be my guest.

And by you reverting to calling me a pilot willing to cross the picket line? I take no offense as I realize that you have run out of valid arguments so all you can do is to take a jab and hope that you hit a nerve. I've been around people like you before and honestly, it doesn't bother me a bit. This profession attracts all kinds of people and once in a while it attracts those unfit for the profession. If you were a pilot in the military (if I can believe that) it is possible that you barely made it through the aptitude tests. Testing isn't fool proof and your are a prime example. A while back an astronaut put on diapers and drove across Texas.......

Well now your calling into question my military career...thats offensive. There is no point in talking to someone that goes down that road. Especially after the debt my family and I have taken for this country...I'm 5th generation Military and third generation US NAVY. I haven't and won't call into question your career...but hope that you figure out what a PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT is. By the way...Google MICHAEL EDWARD THORNTON MEDAL OF HONOR...thats what my family represents!!

Are you untouchable all of a sudden due to military service? You are the one who brought up the military, not me. I very much appreciate the armed forces and the service men and women. What I don't appreciate is an illegal and morally wrong labor action. May I ask how long you have been with your present employer? I honestly don't believe it is your employer who failed you but rather your union.

So to the Kool-Aid guy that got his rocks off by telling me that it takes a whole slew of people in the operation to make things work:the bottom line is that WE MAKE THE BIRDS FLY and YOU CAN'T NEGATE THAT FACT

Oh, Yeaahh! You right. You fly plane. You must be pilot, I'm dumb, I must be a ramp retard water boy. You control plane on ground and in air, but, if no customers, you fly empty plane. Empty plane equal no money. No money equals unhappy pilot. Very unhappy pilot equals Mentor. Mentor smart guy. He a pilot. He want job. I believe the airplane manufacturer MAKE airplanes fly with fancy parts. Then mechanics keep fancy airplane parts flyable. You accelerate fancy plane fast to get lift. Then use high tech equipment/controls to safely maintain plane in sky. No plane make pilot sit on ground. Broke plane make pilot sit on ground. No plane or broke plane make pilot unhappy. Pilot not want to fly good plane, pilot might lose job or will lose job. Pilot know about industry when becoming professional pilot. Pilot complain on Flightinfo.com and get no sympathy from me. You are a part of pie, not the knife that cuts it. I can't negate the facts. Can you Mr. Mentor? Everybody want more money. Pay more money to everyone and airline don't make money. Everybody lose. Airline industry up and down. Just like flying. Turbulence ahead. My brain hurt now. I need a tall glass of .........with double shot of .........

If you are a pilot, I only hope they start making Handicap parking spaces for your planes to pull into.

LOL That was funny Mentor. Handicap parking spaces, that's a great idea. Do you get one of those signs to stick up in the FO's window, the CA's window or both?

No, just when you are flying. Then all bets are off. I mean...you can't talk properly and if you are as big as the Kool-Aid man then you are handicap all the way around.

Ha, ha.
I've been on a strict Kool-Aid diet and I'm now busting down walls 6 ft thick. I've lost over 150 lbs and turned the rest into pure muscle mass. Oh, by the way, they just repainted my handicap parking spot and added your name to it as well.
By the way, are you related to Metro752, because you too sure sound similiar? Maybe we could add a spot for him too. Just a suggestion.

Are you the one that overran that runway(6 ft think barriers) ...I mean Midway had an accident like that and would explain your handicap. Just call in sick on the 31st and go see a Dr. about your weight condition and poor flying skills...then you'll be helping my cause.
