Pilot base Coming? They are supposed to be making a decision. Big operation without a base. Why not? Enough people live in the area already. If they have to shut it down, it sould be nothing like LA.

It's in the works...:smash: The reason is that the popcorn machine is on backorder and they dont want to open MCO till we have it in stock.

Let's walk before we fly on this one, shall we?

If we go down there and stink it up, either because we do it wrong, or, because we are 'helped' by other folks that might not want ASA to succeed, I don't see a base. If we go there and plug the hole for the summer season, then maybe, just maybe, something might be discussed.

If this ever happens, I see the base being very senior for captains and VERY junior for FOs.

Only 10.7 departures a day? Hardly warrants a base.....

We don't need anyone's help to stink it up. The turns are scheduled as if it was a turn in PIA. And let's not talk about the length of the scheduled days.

I just don't get it. Why must we be our own worst enemy?

Brad Holt was seemingly injecting some productive pragmatism into this place, and now this. I just don't get it.

Are the unrealistic turn times a game-killer? I dunno, I haven't seen the schedules for the flying.

Long scheduled days are pretty much par for the course, from where I sit. Can you give some examples?

Well, even if they are not good lines, with tight turns, it kinda feels like we (ASA) are in a position where we need to hit a home run. I mean, if the Florida guys, (that are senior enough to want and bid for an eventual MCO base), want this to work for the long term, it'll be up to them to make it work.

Delta makes the schedules.....not ASA....not Skywest....

MCO shouldn't take much longer than PIA....

Make it work or someone else may do it.....

BH is realy good at making small bases work . Just look at SkyWest small westcoast bases. If anyone can do it, he can.

Mco is an easy base to turn in. No problem doing a quick turn if the ground support is there. Question is, will it be?

The trick will be to start on time and keep ahead on block.

Afternoon thunderstorms will play a roll along with 250kts in tight florida airspace.

Also, crew swaps need to be fast with a friendly reminder from the captain to the FA that we need to get off the ship ASAP after the pax's are off.

Delta needs to get a grip on turn times, the marketing people making these times are smoking some good stuff.

True, I have done a few flights on the 70 and 90 with turn times under 30 minutes...that really isn't realistic to get 76 people and their checked luggage off, clean the cabin, prepare 1st class, and then get another 76 people and their checked luggage back on board.

Delta gives us the flight numbers they want us to fly. It is up to us how to stitch it all together. 40 min turns are entirely up to crew planing-there are plenty of options better than 6 leg days with no turns greater then 40 mins. That is a screwup we can take complete credit for. This sort of garbage does not help our on-time performance and it has nothing to do with the crews or Delta-only those clowns who glue the flights together using some program which is improperly configured.

-Wait til you start flying this crap before you assert how awesome it is, Joe.
