Heard UA/US are gonna announce tomorrow. Thursday that is. Anyone else heard anything?

Yeah I heard something. I heard they were going to announce it last Friday...and then it was changed to monday...then the second week of May. Now I guess it's going to be tomorrow.
 
Im not even a pilot and know this is going to be a real bag of S&^% for everyone
Hell they havent figured out what to do with the west pilots yet and now they are going to take on the Pilots of United omg let the games begin

Killing two birds with one stone! All of you who wished for the demise of UAL, well its finally here! Merge with Usair and they will both be gone! TILTON JUST GOT ANOTHER 10.4 MILLION BONUS FOR A GREAT JOB.

Say goodbye to the west pilots if this actually goes through. You gotta hand it to Doug. He took a failing airline, put it together with another failing airline, and will now likely come out of it smelling like a rose.

I see the west side of USAir disintegrated for DOJ issues, and the rest passing muster.

I think you may be confused, the overlap would be on the east cost, not the West. The west has a legal and binding seniority list with quit a few east guys at the bottom where they should be, tough for them.

Not confused at all. United isn't going to have to give up Dulles. UsAir will not have to give up CLT or LGA. West coast has plenty of overlap, however, and PHX and LAS are losers anyway.

As far as the list goes, there isn't any list until a joint contract. This very well may preclude it all. Also, there has recently been a judgement for the MDA pilots with regard to their seniority in the integration. When is binding not binding? Perhaps we may find out. I really have no dog in the fight, just calling it like I see it.
 
The silver lining in a UAL merger may just be that the East pilots will feel what it's like to unfairly voted out by sheer size. I surmise the UAL pilots will decimate East.

Actually USAPA is meeting with management of LCC today to discuss many items. Early word is that when Bradford insisted on DOH, Parker laughed hysterically and had to be helped back in his chair. Bradford & his entourage kept exclaiming..."It's not fair! It's not fair!"

They really met today, but the rest is a short film showing in my happy place when I visited it this morning.

You don't have your facts strait. The MDA Lawsuit was thrown out. I guess they can file a new one. As always the east pilots can take a terd and try to make it smell good, but in the end they always end up shooting themseves in the foot and making the lawyers rich. Stupid is as stupid does.

There is a list. The arbitrator issued it.

Right now, it's a car in the garage with no gas in the tank. The "gas" is a contract that allows the list to become "effective".

USAPA is gonna learn very quickly that any gas they buy has got to go into THAT car.

What do you mean "say goodbye to the west pilots"? There part of the company, you can't fire 1800 pilots just because their bases close or are downsized. And for your information, which you most desperately need. It wont matter if the list is not an implemented list. It has already been approved by the company AND alpa. So merging with another ALPA carrier, an arbitrator would most likely use what already available. Have a freaking nice day.

You sound a bit desperate there. Whatcha so pissed at me for? I have no dog in the fight. I would think that you'd be glad. Didn't the AWA pilots want to be free anyway? Free of those east "scabs" "scumbags" "idiots". Maybe you'll get your chance if the west is sold to another company. Or are you just so sure that the west is SOOOOOO valuable that IT will be kept. You guys are funny. Online CEOs :D

The MDA suit was largely thrown out because of the statute of limitation. They can't re-file anything because they ran out of time to begin with.

Well said, when they figure that out, they'll hit the gas and wrap that car around the first pole they find. Just like a two year old, the next East Tantrum is just a matter of time.

SHH! don't tell 'em that. Really upsets their world view.

Judge Gershon issued the following ruling on 3/27/08 inre: Naugler, et. al., v. ALPA.


CONCLUSION
​
"For the reasons discussed above, defendants’ motion to dismiss is granted in its entirety as to all of the Counts in plaintiffs’ First Amended Complaint. Plaintiffs’ motion for leave to file a Supplemental Complaint is granted.
Plaintiffs are directed to promptly serve and file their Supplemental Complaint, and defendants are directed to answer in accordance with the time limits of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The parties are also directed to promptly proceed with discovery under the supervision​
of Magistrate Judge Pohorelsky."

Note 17/P.29 states-

"The proposed Supplemental Complaint is unclear as to whether plaintiffs are alleging that they were actually recalled by US Airways or that they should have been deemed recalled under their theory of the case. Defendants appear to have interpreted the claims as only alleging the latter. Plaintiffs, however, clarified in their briefs and on the record that they were listed as active US Airways employees at the time of the award, and not only according to their theory that division employees are deemed recalled and entitled to mainline terms of employment. Under either theory, fact issues remain." (emphasis mine)



So, between 3/27 and today, Naugler, et. al. have filed a Supplemental Complaint, completed discovery, had the case docketed, heard, and decided in their favor, and are now just sitting back waiting for that big ALPA settlement check and a complete redo of the Nicolau list.

Never mind that it took from 10/05 to 3/08 for a decision in the preliminary case above. They've wrapped it all up in 5 weeks.

The collective east delusion would be hilarious were it not so injurious.
