No, you should have taken the first offer since it was better than your counter offer, which your side withdrew.

Oh well, if it is arbitration you demand, then that is what they have to provide you. But you sure can't be mad when your side insists on a dispute and the Delta side prepares properly by using their leverage to undermine your position. What do you expect them to do, not even try at your game?

So we currently have the East vs. West feud. Looks like the North vs. South feud is kicken off. When will the unions actually represent those that pay for their paychecks in a positive way??? Not picking sides on either of these feuds - but c'mon - the lousy self-serving representation is getting old. Just my 02.

No mergers...

Let the strongest airlines survive.

Then the remaining airlines can pick the pieces they want from the remains.

As bad as it was, both groups had a chance to work together but again, it is impossible to get all the pilots to agree.
A real "Union" would not allow this to happen but in reality, we have a bunch of single unions under an umbrella called an Association.

Good luck to everyone... I'm (we're) about to have our own fight with our potential merger.

Always

I work for Delta you jackass. You don't think this is going to screw up everything when the in-fighting starts. As bad as it is, if both sides don't come to an accord we will play in the hands of our mgmt. Read the playbook from USAir...you don't think our "leaders" are expecting this letter from the NWA MEC? Come on, they are five steps ahead on this one.Remember...'this Sh!t is chess, not checkers.'

You are very wise and I agree with you 1000%

. Delta's MEC could not negotiate for the NWA pilots.

I don't remember them asking for DALALPA to do so. Wow, is this a hint of the acrimony ahead?

I guess the NWA pilots will have to earn their double breasted jackets....

There isn't a "real Union" involved here, only alpa.

Paging Capt. Prater, Leadership needed.....Oh, nevermind, I knew that was a joke when I said it.

For what its worth.

DA

P.S. just wait for the next feature "UAL/CAL"......forget debating about whether the carriers will survive; does anybody think alpa will survive any of this???? Any thoughts

NW ALPA Went Down To Georgia

This is going to get nasty. DALALPA is trying to throw us under the bus, So much for unity. I understand most dont have any say in this on the DAL side but your MEC should not have gone to mgmt on their own to undercut NWA pilots. They should have pressed on with NWA ALPA working on a joint contact, SLI, etc.

I sincerely hope this gets resolved because i would hate to see bitterness between the groups for years.

To be read while humming Charlie Daniels 'The Devil Went Down To Georgia':

NorthWest Went Down to Georgia
They were looking for seniority to steal
They were in a bind
'cause they were way behind..look'n for some kind of deal...
And then the young MEC started negotiating and making it hot...
So the devil bounced up on a hickory stump and said Delta let me tell ya' what!
You're a pretty good pilot group but the the old men their due...I'll bet some of bitterness and unreasonable requests against your pilots, cause we think we're better than you!
The younger men said my name's Delta and it might be a sin, but I'll take that bet you're gonna regret 'cause we're the best there's been.
Delta rosin up your bow and play your deal hard...
The old men are in the mix and they're overplaying their cards...
If you win you get this shiney career made of gold...and if you lose the devil zaps your career...

Ya'll had a chance, and rolled the dice. Now, within 2 years I bet (no furlough clause), the DC9s will go away, and hopefully you will sign on the dotted line for your fat raise. Then we'll get the next 20 777s that will head towards Asia, and you guys will join me for some BARBEQUE at a local NASCAR event. Hey, I'll buy the third round of pitchers! Jeff Gordon ROCKS!

Bye Bye--General Lee
