Ever since you changed your name from Airborne to ATSG, things have been very quiet. What is going on over there? ATSG must be asleep or something. Or does Hete have everyone on a gag order? It is best to tell the truth now.

Name hasn't changed yet, it will be a proposal for the Sheholders' Meeting in May. As for quiet, take a gander at the Wilmington paper.

Where is it at? I looked for a report in the Wilmington News- Journal and all I saw was the 4th quarter earnings report dated April 3. Is there something else in another paper?

They took out an ad in the ILN paper yesterday on pg. 7.

Rumor has it that there is quite a bit of interviewing going on...MIA base almost tripling on recent proffers...

Interviewing for what? The impending doom about to fall in May and the selling of 2 767's to CAM would seem to indicate furloughs not hiring?

I wish I knew. That is what many on other boards are prognosticating about ABX's future. Quite frankly I wish I knew. Based on DHL's past decisions I don't doubt for a second that they will decimate ABX in May. As a result they will continue to struggle in the US market.

Does this mean you believe that ABX is the reasons for DHL's dismal failure in the Express industry? Just trying to figure this quote out.

If what you're predicting happens, then there won't be a US market in which to struggle. We will all be hearing the fat lady singing.

Box, quite the contrary. I believe that if DHL had allowed ABX to continue doing what it does best, fly the freight on time, they would be in a much better position today. They certainly would not have had to worry about integration issues, swapping stations and a/c around. They could have concentrated on the delivery side of the business, which is where it seems the largest problem lies. However they have chosen differently for a reason unknown to many. Astar guys dont get in a bunch, but it seems that if DHL had continued the Airborne business model and not touched a thing, even with no growth, they would have more freight than what they do now (from business articles that I have read). I hope they do not slash ABX, but all indications/rumors so far has them doing so (cutting I think 20,000 block hours and parking at least 10 9's was what some were saying months ago even before news of a "big announcement".) It appears that over on another board, specifically the yahoo abxa board, some are implying they know what is coming and it is not good for ABX, including a poster with the same name that posts here. I guess everyone will know for sure sometime within the next 45 days.

Ahh, there is the problem. Garbage in = garbage out. That board is nothing but a vent valve. Don't believe anything you read on that board, the good or the bad. Do your own research and see if it's true otherwise it's just rumor and humor.
