Does anybody associated with Aloha know if they are still proceeding with the lawsuit against Mesa? I know their cargo division will still remain flying so does that mean their legal department is still pursuing this? Thanks.

I think the Mesa lawsuit is going to be one of many. I am hearing AQ mgmt is getting paid HUGE bucks to make this liquidation happen.

Hey,
My bet is the Aloha Corp. will exist to until the court case is heard and decision is rendered. Freight and ground handling ops continue.
Oh yes-
Mesa sucks!
PBR

Even if aloha dissolves completely they'll still have creditors from the bankruptcy that can - and will - continue with the litigation against Mesa.

Mesa is more on the hook now than when aloha was operating... the "damage" done to Hawaiian was speculative - the "damage" done to aloha is tangible. Not to mention the feds will be watching Mesa's fares VERY closely. Any significant increase would open then door for predatory pricing litigation.

IMO... Mesa's going to lose even more of their ass in Hawaii than before aloha left.

Exactly... this is why they shut down Aloha.

Mesa was on the hook for substantial amount of money. Yucaipa knows that. As an owner of the Aloha estate, they can get a lot more out of Mesa than Aloha was worth at the time of filing, so why not shut it down, blame it on Mesa and when the time to collect comes, they'll get paid handsomely, and everyone except the employees will be happy...

I can see some major lawsuits coming Yucaipa's way by the employees especially after they win the lawsuit against Aloha. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Problem with the plan is that Mesa may very well be beyond bankrupt themselves soon enough.... Hard to get much blood out of a turnip...let alone a dead turnip...

But our industry without that parasite J.O. and that disease Mesa is a GOOD thing........maybe the best of things.

So if that is the final outcome of the stupidity and greed of those enronesqe crooks, CHEER !!!!!!

That would only be one down with many more to go... remember, these leeches have no allegiance or pride in building an airline. They just want their golden parachute, and the rest be damned.

Which is why it is SO dumb to end load our careers so much and marry each of these airlines through our current seniority system.

We need to start thinking of a combined seniority list so that companies who are bad at running airlines can go out of business w/o f***ing us over completely.

Combined seniority list? Good luck with that one.

Great idea, but look at NWA/DAL merger talks - they were beefing over who gets to fly 747 and who gets to fly 777. Not to mention a nice fat bonus to boot if it gets completed....

It would be too funny if it wasn't so sad. Our profession is doomed by our current seniority system.
