We don't use "hours" in our 1.D.2 as DAL does. We use hulls, then define them.

"Parking" is when the airworthiness certificate lapses, or in the case of "heavy checks" (which might allow a cert. to lapse), we use insurance status.

None of our DC-9's carry hull insurance, since none of them are leased (they're all owned). ALPA tracks the liability insurance status of each hull through the underwriter. (We have a full voting memeber on the NWA Board of Directors) On any given day we'll have 2-3 hulls that are not flying for OTHER than mx issues. They're active aircraft, but used as spares.

The "inactive" aircraft list is published once a quarter, but is only a general reference. Management must comply month-to-month.

As with most limitations in the PWA, this is one that we've had to tighten over the years dueto management's creative interpretations.

Thanks for the info.

Well, I usually do 3 day trips to Europe worth over 20 hours, or a 4 day to Rio worth 20 plus hours.

Wow? Thats all. Most of my three days are 22-23 trips. Four days are a minimum of 26. Why do your trips pay so low? You do have Europe but then you have the old 7 hour time difference! Your pay should be higher for flying all night long, kinda like FedEx or UPS.

Thats why carriers that have had seat pay or longevity pay see the widebodies go very junior. For QOL and health reasons.

Wrong do some research would you......

Which part, the 36 E-175's by Dec. 2008, or what?

My bad, $63/hr CA and $23/hr FO was year 1
$65/hr CA....$36/hr was 3rd year. Pathetic. Unless AirlinePilotCentral is in error. IF it is, I could really care less as to what other research would you like. You could drop them a note to update their info if you want.

Sorry i was a little harsh on that response. i wasnt talking about payrates i was leading more towards scope language and the Narrow body floor that is about to be set.
