The two SLC slots went #1 and #2 in the class from what I heard.
How could that be? I thought ATL was the center of the universe and the NWA guys were going to displace all the DAL guys out of there!
I bet MSP and DTW guys would rather live in Park City (30 mins from SLC airport--and away from Mormon-ville) than Snowtown or Motown. LAX has also gone to newhires lately, which could be a nice base for any of your West Coast commuters. But hey, you guys like the Snow and Elvis.....
Bye Bye--General Lee
It's kind of hard to put an ice rink in the back yard in LA or ATL. My kids would go crazy!
Schwanker
Park City was pretty nice, now it is pretty Californicated with inflated house prices (avg. in excess of 600K) which there are very few airline pilots today that could even afford the rent in. People are straight out snobby and have a sense of entitlement to what was once a private community.
The schools are good, but you had better teach your kids Spanish so they can communicate with all the "new" citizens' children. If you are from the area Park City will make you want to f*&king puke and move to another bedroom community and live with the Redneck Mormons that despise PC just as much.
I grew up in PC and you can keep your Hummers, Pilates classes, and outlet stores and shove em' up the local celeb's asses! Although they do have a hockey league like GL says, but then again what don't they have.
Now for my two cents, SLC is one of the better airports you could commute to in the west and I am sure there are a great deal of pilots that would be happy living in SLC or within a short drive or one hour flight from one of the least delayed airports and "happiest" pilot bases in the world.
Schwank, you seem like such a conceited dick I am sure you would fit in just fine in PC.

Wow.....another class act DAL pilot. It's class like that that us NWA folks are really gonna miss. At least we'll still get to experience it on the hotel shuttles as we load up anyway and smile despite the huff&puff "this is our shuttle" routine. I love that part.Hey Jack A$$!!! Why don't you go back to posting your idiot comments on the merger threads and let these guys talk out their issues here about their class date. Your a Fu*king idiot.

Well, all I can say is that the post jrcpilot wigged out over:He does have a point. Schwanker is slightly on the idiot side if you have been reading any of his posts. He's not doing any good in representing NWA in any of his posts as are some DAL guys.
was a pretty accurate summation of weeks of drivel from many Deltoids here. I'll go back and read some of Schwankers posts if you'll do the same with Robert E.'s posts about exactly what Schwanker said. Come on now, how many times did we hear that very mantra? Without super seniority DAL pilots will be displaced by all the FL resident NWA pilots bumping into ATL, yadayadayada ad nauseum. How could that be? I thought ATL was the center of the universe and the NWA guys were going to displace all the DAL guys out of there!
Atleast NW has better snacks on board...now back to the topic.....
Naah, you're not gonna miss it. With the likes of yourself, nwaredtail, schwanker,fly4hire, you'll hae plenty of arrogance to go around, and then some.Wow.....another class act DAL pilot. It's class like that that us NWA folks are really gonna miss.
I guess you're probably looking forward to the easter bunny this weekend too, believing stories like that, eh sport? At least we'll still get to experience it on the hotel shuttles as we load up anyway and smile despite the huff&puff "this is our shuttle" routine. I love that part.
Well sport, if the reality of the Easter bunny hinges on the truth of the "Delta Van" experiences....then I'll be cleaning up a lot of rabbit turds this weekend. Been front row center for p l e n t y of 'em and they are ALWAYS a hoot.I guess you're probably looking forward to the easter bunny this weekend too, believing stories like that, eh sport?
I hate to say it but I agree with you there. Delta's free snacks in coach are superior. As for the exit rows...ya know what? People actually PAY it!! What a concept! Make extra money on something that people, apparently, are willing to pay for. Maybe DAL should try it!yes, better snacks. that's something to hang your hat on.
amazing what $2 (pringles) to $5 (slim jim and granola bar) will get you. are you sh!tting me?
can't remember, but I think Delta has a very minimal (but FREE) snack choice.
And they don't charge more for exit rows.

WILL admit that they have become less common ever since the Bankruptcy Bunny gave you guys a swift kick upside the head.
Where did I say that? Man-o-man..the lack of ability to stay focused on the actual content of the post is just amazing with you guys! PLEASE tell me that your mind doesn't work this way when you are operating the airplane. Just....WOW.I suppose you missed that kick upside th head. No bankruptcy for you guys right?
Tell me again why you make so much less than a DAL pilot.

For the benefit of your A.D.D condition: the instances of "it's our van" I have observed with DAL crews have decreased somewhat since DAL went BK.
What does that have to do with NWA???????
PS. Tell me again why you don't have a pension. Thanks

JR is a teddy bear if you know him! One of the nicest guys around and not a typical DL pilot!

So you've read all my posts huh? Then please provide a reference to an instance of me calling anyone a "Fu*king idiot". You are an angry, low class, foul-mouthed "teddy bear" whose stuffing is leaking out. I'm sure you're a pleasure to fly with.Considering all your posts I read from you I'm not the one who needs anger management classes its you. I just stated a simple fact....your a jack a$$. Your not the only one though. There's plenty of DAL guys on here that make idiot posts as well. I've worked for Delta 19 years and have seen plenty of idiots on here. Just stating the facts.
Robert E. : According to you and FDJ2, every DAL pilot has been more than made whole on the pension by the Claim Sale and $650million note. So, according to your own statements, there is no "pension value" for you to regain....you already have it. Once again, Which is it? You cannot have it both way no matter how many tantrums you throw. Nope.319,
So, if we were to get together, would we get our pension back? But wait, you would get more pay and better work rules, right? And you don't want to give us any credit? Sorry, you have old farts with pensions, and we would have to get credit on the SLI for just that. You just can't see it, can you? That is obvious. You have to give us credit for something WE CANNOT REGAIN. You regain pay and rules, and keep the pension. Do you still need "a heading" to figure this out?
Bye Bye--General Lee

Wow...ya know what? I'll give you a pass on the whole attention span thing(you know...like JetBlue has anything to do with anything here) since you have the unfortunate history of having flown the Jetstream series. I realize that long term exposure to the noise and vibration from those Garretts can wreak havoc with someones cognitive abilities. Apparently you've tripped on the wing spar one too many times. Mind your head nowOh this is rich.....
Maybe you should spend less time making up stuff and worrying about your own BK problems....Like denying Jet Blue pilots jumpseats for being the reason your airline went into chp. 11....
Your arrogance kills me.
I just don't understand why you're so angry. You got to keep your seniority(I mean, remember, DALPA wanted to steal it), your crappy work rules, old airplanes, substandard pay, and Steenland.
Now, get back out there and continue to show Jet Blue pilots the door for causing your bankruptcy!

Great. However, FDJ2 has had this to say about it:The claim sale was technically to recoup something for 4 years working under the concessionary contract.
and this:most pilots captured at least 100% of the pension they had earned with the note distribution, Money Purchase Pension Plan rolled over into their own name, estimated PC-3/PC-4 payments plus PC-5 redistributions. The claim money, due to the large valuation of 60 cents on the dollar, made up for a 14% pay cut and then some.
He seems well versed in the details of your pension plan and the replacement products. Robert E can't have it both ways. You either suffered great financial impact from the terminated DB, which should have been factored into any merger discussions, or you were made whole and then some, in which case Robert E, as usual, is nothing more than another puff of lukewarm air. Most Delta pilots who can see a return of 7.5%/year will actually do better with the note payout, MPPP money and their PBGC payout, then what what they had accrued under the DPRP at time of termination.
