Is there anyone who has anything good to say about this company?
What are the rules for aiports bases or locations you can star/end your trip?

Airports?????

Where you are hired into is where you start your week and where you are sent after your tour. If you don't live in that city you must find your own way there since thats where your airlines are going to be starting and finishing from.
( we DON'T have any jump seat agreements)


Future of the company??????


Not looking good. Even with a contract I think management put us into a spin that we might not be able to recover from.
 
Paying for parking depends on where you live and where you park. Many FBO's let our pilots park for free since we buy fuel from them. There are other that don't and the guys are forced to pay 8 or 9 dollars a day on parking. So calculate 16 days a month per parking rate and then add that to your monthly expenses. It is not uncommon for guys to spend $144 per month on parking.
The company does not pay for that.

I mean no disrespect... but you can't be serious!? Do a search of Flight Options and read and absorb everything you can and make an informed decision. Good Luck.

Ok-
It will make your last job seem not so crappy-no matter where you came from.

It will make your next job seem so much better.

Please don't fall for it-FLOPS mgt is out there lurking trying to find anyone willing to come work for peanuts. You can do better.
 
Read a lot of bad things this is why I am asking if there is anything good to say?

All you need to know is that in January Flops hired 8 pilots, after a 4 month search. One quit before the class started and 2 were fired in initial indoc, prior to Simuflight. You wanna roll the dice with those odds?

The only good thing I have to say is at least you are getting informed now, before you make a big mistake. I bet the two fired new-hire pilots wish the did the research before coming here. Best of luck.
 
One good thing

Matt I disagree with all the replies you've received concerning your post. There is one good thing at Options. Your fellow pilots would be the greatest! And I mean that sincerely. There are many men and women here that I'm proud to call my friends and co-workers. So yes Matt there is ONE good thing about options.
 
I have heard there is another good thing that results from working at FLOPS: you will appreciate all future jobs so much more...
 
I agree, the one positive thing about FLOPS, the only thing that has kept FLOPS moving forward at all are the superb group professional pilots grossly underappreciated by the failed FLOPS management.

Keep one thing in mind as you consider your next move. When you go to interview for your next job (and you will, probably soon), which companies you agreed to work for in the past will say a lot about you to a prospective employer. If there are pilots on the hiring board and they have any kind of a clue about the industry, they might see your working for Flight Options as a capitulation to the worst this industry has to offer and a failure on your part to value your own skills adequately. That alone may result in a rejection letter. Galaxy is right: you can do better.
 
So let me get this straight:

There are hundreds and hundreds of posts on flightinfo and other boards from current pilots stating that FLOPS is a place to stay away from.

They speak of pilots getting fired for trivial things, pilots getting called during rest, intimidated to fly, and beaten down in general.

They speak of management going out of their way to not follow their own rules to the pilots detriment.

They speak of very long hours followed by minimum rest at not so nice hotels to be repeated day after day.

They speak of Mx issues that the company pressures to to go fly with.

They speak of moral being so low that senior Captains leave for places like Chitaqua.



All this and I'm sure a bunch more that I can't even remember...

And you want to know if they pay for PARKING!!!!!
What if they did, would that make it an okay job?

Matti, is that short for Matias,,,,,,:nuts: just a question. Seriously though dude you can't be serious with the parking question. With all the hundreds of post on this board about how sh!tty Floptions management is and how screwed up it is to work at Floptoins right now, parking should not even be a part of your thought processes.

If you were serious about the parking thing, never mind, you are exactly what management is looking fore.
 
I thank the pilots who answered the questions without being negative towards any individuals. To the other "people" who must attack others for the questions they ask. Maybe if you read the entire post, in this case about parking, you would notice that it was a reference to ALL fractionals, not just one. So before you call someone names perhaps you should read the post correctly and look at the details. The questions I asked were for a reason, you do not know why they were asked so maybe you can stop assuming and you might be better off.


Again, I thank the people who gave honest answers and are not on this site to be morons.

Your kidding right, the name of this thread is "Flight Options Questions", not other frac questions.
 
I never call in for the weekly message, but I was told Baboo was giving it this week and saying the current management is staying. Also he implied that we may not be getting as many Phenom 300 as quickly as expected.

What is he trying to do, increase the rate of people quiting from 7 to 14 a week? We don't want to hear current management is staying because that give us no hope of recovery, and we don't want to hear that we won't be getting replacement aircraft as quickly as hoped. That means no growth.

We just lost another 9 year X captain to Net Jets. Do they want that to continue?

Fracap, baboo is just crying poor dad! Of course he wants you to think they cant afford to pay you what you are worth. And if HIG decides to get rid of the current management no one will know it until the day it happens. The phenoms are currently just a marketing ploy. That is meaningless to us until they are parked on the ramp. Besides, the way things are now, there will not be anyone around to fly them. The s twins just received another slap in the face from CS. One more reason to leave and go somewhere else or to not come here in the first place as a new hire. But, that is going to change soon.

Not even a contract is going to save this company now. My six month prediction is 20-25 percent of the fleet green and uncrewed. We have a ceo abusing corprate assets running around having meetings with brown nosers and calling it a success. He thinks it will attract enough pilots to stay around in hopes of obtaining e new type rating on a jet that we are going to love because of the baggage compartment. I don't even want to work for these tools even witha decent contract and I know many others sare my same sentiments. Management has been extremely lucky with the downturn in the economy slowing the flying down, wait till it picks up again before summer, then they will be feeling the heat. Life is too short to work for A$$holes. Frac I was hoping you would stay too but I think I'm bailing with you. Good luck to all, with baboo and ms you're gonna need it.

I think you are right on the money with your estimate. The only aircraft we are asking people to bid into because of the lack of staffing is the hawker program. I was curious to know what the crewing level was that they felt it needed 2 additional SIC's in, and I counted only 48 SIC's on the list for a program that has about 30 to 40 aircraft in it.

The Beech jet program has a similar problem with uncrewed aircraft. But remember, an aircraft is "crewed" if only one person is present, so their numbers don't reflect reality. As a result, this puts great stress on the rest of the pilots that have to pick up the slack and fly 14 hour days with double the number of flights to cover the slack. This is wearing the crews down, and it is only a matter of time before serious mistakes happen. I was hoping HIG was going to step in and add core aircraft and additional pilots, but I guess that won't happen, because as Baboo said, management is staying in place.
