You aren't actually thinking about going back, are you?

You're joking right?..... I wouldn't be caught dead near the mess thats about to take place on the other side of the fence. I'm just curious about the options that might be available for the furloughed/bypass group should this merger happen. Not really holding my breath for anything though....

On your six....

Now a days flying at night is part of the norm for every company.... flew about 180 hours last year and about 80hrs were at night. Did a JFK day run the other day and the taxi time was 1:20 mins.... wtfo? no thank you....

Hope it all works out for you over there..... let me know if you need a letter for big brown;).

Isn't it great. I get 3-4 extra hours a month going through there. Paid by the hour we are.

If you care about your career, vote Obama.

If you care about creating a welfare state; about capitulating to Al Qaeda, Iran, and others in the name of "diplomacy;" if you care about squelching individual motivation to succeed and prosper... vote Obama.

But hey, he's pro labor, so as long as my career's OK, I don't have to worry about that other stuff...right?

True.... we are paid by the hour, but not the case for my situations. The faster I get done the better and the less time I have to spend in an airplane. Hence 180 hrs for a whole year..... enjoy JFK and Im glad it works for some people....again... no thank you...

Instructor dude.....

Not in a f*&ing million years...... your posts on this forum speak volumes about who you really are and they show your true colors.

Owl Gore? Are you kidding? He would probably charge us for our "carbon footprint" or some other environmental bullsh*t.

That would be a good thing. Have you seen An Inconvenient Truth?

So who you voting for, then, 180?

I'm not buying into the whole climate change thing. I'm voting for the candidate that will fight the islamic terrorist not appease them. Thats the most important thing for me.

Unfortunately it looks like McCain but I liked Romney or Guiani.

McCain. Do you agree with his policy of amending the RLA to impose "baseball style" arbitration and removing our right to strike?

You mean the film that a court of law determined was factually inaccurate in multiple claims? No thanks. Al Gore can worry about finding Man-bear-pig, the rest of us will worry about real problems.

Not that it really matters, but does anyone out in the DAL/NWA system, (other than the freaking general) have a clue as to what would happen to the guys/gals that bypassed recall should this "thing" make it to single carrier status? Oh well.... I guess all in time eeehhh????

Historically, guys on furlough go to the bottom of the list. Furloughed Pan Am 747 FO's went below active National 727 FO's after the Pan Am-National merger (of course that was 30 years ago.)

The furloughed USAir guys didn't fair so well, either.

Those are the only two circumstances I recall.

I am a Delta new hire, Mar 3rd class date. I now have a very vested interest in the future of Delta. I don't really know what life will look like if we merge. But, I am almost certain it will good if we do not. With Delta experiencing lots of growth with no end in site. I have a couple questions for Delta guys.

1. I have heard the Delta pilot union has a large scope, what is this scope?

2. Why don't the pilots just say that they do not want to merge?

3. I have written my senators to tell them that I do not think a merger between Delta and Northwest is in the best interest of (me) the American consumer. Has anyone else that is not in favor of the merger written their congressmen?

Thanks for your thoughts

Cheers
Are you nuts? The decision-making criteria for the merger is not what benefits YOU, it's what benefits the STOCKHOLDERS of DAL, Inc. and NWA, Inc.

Get a clue, or you'll never succeed in this business or any other.

This is the point you should be focusing on. Growth still exists at Delta with or without a merger. If the merger takes place, the combined airline will be one of the largest (and potentially most profitable if the synergies work) in the world. You should be happy to be a part of that. You will have hundreds of people behind you if hiring holds (and indications are positive from what I have heard).

Congrats for getting on with Delta and don't let the Southwest guys scare you. Ask them about their new upgrade timelines and the Age 65 parties they have been throwing there...

I have one question for you PAL, Who made money last quarter and who lost money?

Ans. SWA made money Delta Lost Money. Good Luck and have Fun!
