Looking For Pilot. I have some friends in Lake Charles Louisiana who are buying an Eclipse 500 jet. They are looking for a pilot to hire and type immediately. You must be willing to relocate to KLCH. $55,000-65,000 a year salary. Flying the partners who bought the airplane around, and some part 135 charter on the side. May be used to fly gamblers to the Casino with.
Owners of Aircraft are really cool, I would take the job myself but already made a commitment.

yeah 150,000 im sure thats what they are paying you to fly your monster citation

Not sure what a "monster" citation is, but to answer your question...they are paying me very close to that amount. Which is why I think $55k-$65k is laughable...like I said before, get real.

Oh crap you had to go there, what ego

NetJets, 18 day schedule (we both know your single pilot will work more)

Captain;

Year 1. 106,444
year 2. 110,169

Copilot;

year 1. 61,188
year 2. 71,610

These numbers are for 2 pilot planes, so it cost total per year
167,632 for 2 pilots year 1
181,779 for 2 pilots year 2

And being that your boy will be single pilot doing both Captain and Copilot duties, (and probably getting dry-cleaning, washing the Bently as well)that is where 150,000 comes from. You sound like the puts for defending the low pay, why? Only you know.

ps,
Also all major holidays are paid at about 800-1500 per day (holiday pay on top of base salary), and perdiem at 50.00 a day. This tidbit of info wasn't factored into the 150000 by the way.

Get back with me in a couple of years and lets see how you are doing. I remember the Delta guys use to brag like that. What comes around goes around. Enjoy it while you can.

I guess grammar wasn't one of your stronger subjects. You remind me of the AA FO that corrected my use of the term MD80 instead of "Super 80".

Just remember we, you, fly the CEOs and owners of the Arlines and the people that don't care what fuel cost, nor do they care how much the interior cost, because the dog likes blue with pink carpet.

You ain't so bright

even after 15 yrs still no 150,000 a year

NJA 18-Day Fixed Schedule (Yr 11) $150,149...that's without perdiem, extended days, holiday pay, etc. The issue here really isn't how much money I'm making, but that the pay you suggested for the job is obnoxiously low.

For reasons mentioned elsewhere in this thread, a job of this type should pay far more than you're advertising...if this isn't obvious to you, well then you're obviously don't have a shred of dignity and are therefore part of the problem. The fact is that jobs like this one only exacerbate (try and keep up here) the problem and put simply, boil down to nothing more than exploitation.

P.S.keep that slowtation out of all the real jets way.
Aaaaw...are we compensating for something? Did I hurt your feelings? Well little guy, try not to take it personally...I'm sure you'll get plenty of jet time at your new r-e-g-i-o-n-a-l job. We're all very proud of you.

Considering the Eclipse is a glorified King Air 90 without having to worry about the auto-feather function, I'd say the pay was about right.

This ain't a career job, it's a stepping stone. TC

but the min. qualification for this job doesn't seem like he's looking for stepping stoners.

I saw nothing wrong with your post, and if any of the negative people commenting on here needed a job they would be all over it. Don't let a few bashers get you down.
;)

Glorified King Air,,, give me the King Air. The pay is reasonable depending on the hours/days flown. It is not like you are dealing with half the King Air passengers and bags. With any kind of passenger seats filled, you are not going high or far. Should be a good time builder in the career chain/

Pays seem about right for a plane that will let you build Multi PIC turbine in a all glass cockpit. (hello FedUPS).

Any idea of what a schedule would be. How about bennies, medical, dental ect......

There is not even enough information about the job to understand the salary. However, even if the ONLY thing the pilot did was come to work, act as PIC on a turbo jet, and then go home, on the surface 60k seems a bit low, even in the south.

Reading between the lines, I am thinking this is a "new" flight department. So, that begs the question on this whole 135 portion of the gig. Who is setting that up. Is the plane going on an existing 135 certficate, in which case there is existing support staff to do billing, record keeping, maintenance tracking, etc...OR is this "new" pilot going to be responsible for setting all that up.

I'm thinking 80 to 90K for a basic CPT running the flight department for that class of plane. IF the person has anything do to with setting up and maintaining a 135, then the number should go up, IMO.

And I would agree with a previous poster that it would not appear these new owners are looking for a 'steeping stone' employee based on the minimums they were recommended to post for this gig.

Show me *anyone* w/2000 hrs jet time looking for a "stepping stone".
The only people I can picture are 24 yr olds that are getting an inkling that the regionals suck. But at that point, even they have "stepped on stones".

If however the pilot has a schedule, is home most of the time, gets to cook dinner for his family once in a while, it *may* be worth it to the right individual. I somehow think he/she may not be extremely happy with their lot in life at that point however.

Publishers--True. After I wrote that, I realized it's an insult to the King Air.

Glorified Seneca...maybe. (Seneca II, that is. ;) )

capncrunch--I didn't see much to get your panties in a wad over here. I'd imagine you'd get the same comments if you walked into your local FBO and announced the job and its requirements. Time to HTFU, mate! :D TC

Those minimums have to be insurance requirements. It not just hard finding someone with that amount of time to work for that pay, but to find someone who wants to live in Lake Charles. Someone will do it. God bless em
PS. a King Air can no way be compared to an eclipse.
Not bashing cptcrunch (your trying to help) I saw the Eclipse and its a POS.
