Easy to turn a profit on "fee for departure" or "cost plus"!!! There is no "at risk" flying on the CRJ's at Skywest. Try some "at risk" flying and then tell me what the balance sheet looks like...

Ok well, that is true, you can make money on flying RJs....Now try paying a RJ captain 175ish per credit and and FO 108 per credit and see how that pans out. I rest my case.

Last stupid SW/SKYW rumor I heard was that a partnership was axed over Uncle Jerry not wanting to use the aircraft Southwest wanted SkyWest to fly. And even that one was ridiculous.

That's not ridiculous. Southwest wanted Skywest to fly the E170 and maybe the E190 and Jerry said no. He didn't want another aircraft type. Also there was disagreement over fuel. This is a true.

As far as Southwest buying Skywest....that's FUBAR!

Southwest is coming into ATL via the Trojan horse. They will buy ASA from Skywest. Skywest sees the writing on the wall with the upcoming mergers and reduced connection carriers and are looking to cash out. Southwest will dissolve ASA and use the gates to destroy Airtran. Airtran will go the way of Frontier in Denver. Delta will go the way of Pan Am. Southwest becomes Walmart.
