Do any "mainline" airlines have holding company scope restrictions for larger Non Permitted Types? Or if this happens (and for the record I'm predicting it won't by a long shot) would SW/SKYW be able to pull the classic "seperate certificate trick" and suck revenue from legacy airlines to funnel to the SWA mainline?

Heard today from a Southwest pilot that this is the new rumor over there... anyone else?
Put down the bottle and slowly back away....

Southwest has to do something before SkyWest slowly takes over the world. jk. This is the funniest rumor on FI.com in quite awhile.

Last stupid SW/SKYW rumor I heard was that a partnership was axed over Uncle Jerry not wanting to use the aircraft Southwest wanted SkyWest to fly. And even that one was ridiculous.

What are you smoking? You can't operate the RJ and make money, why would we do it....get real.

smartest thing I have heard on this topic....RJs are dead or dying....SWA sure wont get involved in that mess

Soutwest WILL gobble someone up within the next 6 months...I believe that. But Skywest...no, actually, HELL no. It'll be someone with 73s on property...I say either Airtran, Westjet or something else I can't think of.

....Or we could all just parrot what Mike Boyd has been saying for the last seven years. Hey if you say something long enough, eventually you will be right.
