I managed to score 32 hours in MFE.......Never overnighted down there in McAllen- anything worth while down there to help bleed off the time????
nice hotel across the street from a nice mall, several (about anything you want) places to eat, movies...you'll be fine as long as you stay out of the barrio....just stay near the hotel/mall area

This month, 29hrs TOL and 32hrs in TRI, yes i have a line, yes those were parts of 4-day trips...

P.S. in FLO the hotel blows (Fairfield with elevator outdoors) and there is an Outback steakhouse within walking distance

If the hotel is not located downtown then GRIEVE IT!!! Lodging was not part of the implementation section, it's all immediate!

In an instance like this where the company is wrong to not change us to a downtown location, what is the punishment to the company when they lose the grievance?

A retroactive overnight, just this time at a downtown location. Imagine how much fun you'll have on your second 58-hour tour of Florence when you stay downtown (which is exactly where, anyway?)

To bad that the Ford Escort Shaggin' crew wagon with all the defer stickers is no longer around. Could have fun with that one. Bring the camera for a good time! Oh the good ole days....

I remember that thing. The last time I drove it was in GTR (heard an intern got to do the repo) over two years ago. No interior lights and parked in a dark corner of the parking lot. To read the directions to the hotel taped to the dash we had to drive a well lit part of the parking lot and memorize them. (to lazy to pull a flashlight out of our bags)

thats quality

Thats a great point. We need to be careful what we wish for in some of these cities. I can't say I have been downtown FLO, but driving past it, I think we are better off near the mall where we are now. At least there are a few options.

Kind of like the 3 day MCN that was blocked for less than 1.5. I did it once in 56 minutes block with 35+ TAFB. Except that was a normally scheduled pairing, not a holiday one.

The hotel in MCN is a HOLE. Last month, there were three floors that were closed to the public because of 'water damage'...

There's dirt ground into the carpet that predates the Clinton comradeship (the first one...)

I have a better idea. Grab your new FO, a case of beer, some hookers, then raise hell.

You talk about the industry going south. I'm sure TWA, Pan Am, etc... Had no problem knocking down 58 hours...

It's all fun and games until one (or two) dead hookers wind up stowed away in the donkey d!ck compartment for the ride home.....

talk about crew utilization...

An ASA 4-day in Initial Open Time for January...240 block with 60 hours in DCA and a DEADHEAD home to boot!
