Not really... Everyone in a CRJ is not under a lock, and those who bid it should expect a 1 year lock, which it will be for most anyway...

I thought the decision was pretty fair and reasonable.

So, the effective date of the Flow LOA is the key point here. Prior to that, nobody is held back from flow. After the LOA date, your hold at Mesaba is 12 months after you complete training. Yeah, it may go junior if the veteran Saab captains choose to forgo the transition to the jet in order to avoid the 12 month training freezing preventing their flow to NWA. Man, this is confusing.

i feel the crj (most likely the 900 more than the 200) will go junior, give it another few months, say a vacancy in march, will go abit more junior. either a lifer will take it or a really junior guy will take it, a middle seniority guy wont take it, if he will be able to flow up that year, why would he delay it 12 months. touching another airplane post loa signed is signing your 12 month commitment to xj. who knows though, i suppose it all depends on your individual situation and personal preference

I think you are right. The 900 will continue to go fairly junior. I believe the company seatlocks will be reduced to 12 months very soon to prevent jet street captains.

Seems to me that anyone that isn't in the top 100 on the seniority list wont have a chance to flow in the next 12 months anyway. Why would someone sitting 200+ on the list even be worried about making a move now?

How did the instructor issue turn out?

Since NWA still has a pension for the senior guys, there will be a lot of retirements out of here. If a guy were to give up 100 seniority slots due to a lock it could be a million dollar mistake. Aren't most of the top 150 there lifers anyway?

I believe there is a restriction for 3 flow ups per month for 2007. That means a total of 36 flow ups for the year. You aren't going to get very far through the list at that pace. I personally know a lot of people in the top 150 that can't wait to get out.

3 per month thru September. 9 per month after that.

DOINTIME-how did the checkairman issue turn out?
- 6 months , instead of 9.

3 every month until sept, than 9 per month after that

LCA/APD/Instructors cannot flow for months. Still time to resign till LOA is signed, then stuck. Get ready for a total collapse of the training department.

Actually it's 6 months from when your number comes up so you can be an lca/cam/apd and give your 60-day notice before your flow comes up. The instructors aren't frozen based on the loa signing, only the training freeze people. Instructors are frozen if they are in a "checking" position when their number comes up.

In any event you are correct. Standby for mass exodus from the training dept. especially from the lca group.

First off congrats to you Mesaba guys for getting the flowthrough worked out, thats great.

I do have a question though, how does the flow through work between NWA and Mesaba. When was it signed into effect? I am soon to be a newb at NWA and I am trying to learn about all this stuff. I know all the details about the Compass flowthrough/back. Thanks for any info you have to offer.

Original agreement was a months ago. Final LOA to be signed soon based on arbitrator's decision yesterdday. It was worked out but like always Mesaba management had to change the details at the last second. They always keep their heads in the sand until the bomb goes off and then ask "what the hell happened?"

It takes affect in January. 3 per month until September and then 9 per month after that. You must be a Captain and meet all other NWA hiring mins for time. No interview or sim. Just a class date.

More details to follow.

Anybody care to let the rest of us in on what this is all about?
