I recently heard about XO jet, can anyone shed light company info? such as QOL, Pay and benefits?

Use the search button. Plenty of previous posts on both this forum and the charter forum. High growth, 20 Citation Xs now with more Xs and up to 60 Challenger 300s on the way. FO starting pay roughly $50K and PIC pay of $90K I believe.

PPS-I have read virtually every existing thread on every flying message board, and haven't found out much.
 
Why not look at www.xojet.com. You can read about their "model" and how they differentiate themselves from Netjets and others. Looks like it is very well funded too by some big-name investment firms. The owner/founder, by the way, is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and he is typed in the Citation X.

He is a pilot, but not typed in the X.
 
Does anyone have any details on the interview process at XOJet? I have looked all over this site and have not found much on what an interview there entails. Thanks
 
10 out of 100 may be a bit of an exaggeration, but we are particular in who we hire. Walking in with loads of 10 time may not work to your advantage. We've turned down several guys with significant time in the 10s because they had the attitude that we SHOULD hire them simply because of their experience. We are looking for more than just someone that knows how to fly an airplane. As I've said in the past, your attitude and personality is more important to us than your logbook.
 
i sent an application to xojet about 2 weeks ago. does anyone know how long it takes for them to get intouch to schedule an interview.
 
I interviewed with these guys. Seemed like a pretty good place to work. Didn't get the job, but not such a bad thing as the pay isn't where I'm at. Probably a good choice on their part...Seemed like a nice group of people that are oddly like each other, which I think is what they are looking for. It kinda seemed like an Amway meeting I went to a long time ago, especially the way the pilots talked about the company. Good for them if they are happy and enjoy their jobs.

I'd assume non-scheduled 135. Look back for 10 hours rest in 24.

That is correct. All of our flights, whether occupied or not, are flown as if they are 135 legs. That includes takeoff and landing performance.

Just last night, I was to repo empty from Napa back to the barn in McClellan for some mx, which would have come close to putting us over 14 hours of duty (it technically was a 91 leg). Our instructions from our DO were to shutdown in Napa if that leg would have put us over 14. No pressure to get the plane home.
 
Maybe I'm illiterate, but even after reading their web site, I cannot determine what separates them from fractional ownership or card programs. Someone please enlighten me.

I believe that the do this:

Fractional, but their shares are much bigger (no 16ths, etc.).
Straight Charter.
Cards???
They have planes that are fractionally owned.
They also have planes that are owned 100% by someone else, and they manage them.

So, they basically do everything, if I understand it correctly.

The hardest thing when looking at XOJet, is there is VERY LITTLE information available about them on the net.

If any of their pilots want to post more detailed info, I'm sure that would help grow the company.

Okay, so fully-owned, fractionally-owned, chartered, and zero-owned. Nothing like having a good clear business plan -- but then again, they could still be a good place to work.

Just kidding! He's a great guy. I can see why they hired him.

I hope it's kind of some kind of SWA of the fractionals because he got in really early.

He likes it, but then again he was a dumbass commuter geek.

I also have pictures of him doing unmentionable things in Afghanistan!!!!!!

This place hasn't even really lifted off yet and you guys are calling it the SWA of fractionals already? Good grief. Good pay only gets you in the door for them, what else do they have? nothing.

Yeah Doyle, that is a stretch I guess. I'm just happy he got in on the ground floor.



I felt that way at Flex when I hired in. There was supposed to be all this "expansion", but it never came about.

I guess time will tell. I know he really likes it, and he's very senior.
