Taking my crj type as well as my atp in a few days. Wondering if anyone has any out of the ordinary questions they were asked recently on a type?
TLR, WEIGHT BALANCE anything not in the oral guide.

What do the naca vents on the back underside of the engine do?

Requirements for alternate, ie distance, speed, altitude while heading to it...

It's straight up Immediate Action items, limitations, oral questions. Who's doing your oral?

Get the gouge on whoever is giving you the oral/ride and try to find out their pet peeves.
Good luck.

He is a very nice guy. He was just signed off last month as an IP able to do Types, but has been an IP for a long time.

I can almost promise without a doubt he will stick to the oral guide.

I would say just be able to bang out the easy stuff and that will se the tone.

And dont forget to study small things like what it takes to trigger the GLD, those things that you assume you would remember if asked.

Dont BS the IP. If you dont know dont pretend to. Its not a single item but senario.

You lucky bastard, you got Sunny! Yup, stick with the oral prep. It will be a let down though as you have probably studied far more than you actually needed to study. At least you didn't get the Hammer!

I never had to ask on flightinfo what to study in order to pass a type ride. Times have changed. It's like a high school kid asking about what's on the chemistry test. Lame.

Yea i know what to study, thanks. Just asking about odd ball stuff that u sometimes dont think about. More curiosity, than trying to get the gouge on a instuctor. No guarentee u get that particular guy the day of, duh.

yeah, and after i thought about this I decided your making use of all available resources, which is good, you just have to give FI very little value.

good luck, its a good feeling when its all over and done with.

But I bet you had inquired to people who had gone before you about what was on the ride. Same difference.

Sorry, just didn't like the tone in your comment.

Blucher,
Your back, how did your training go?

Sonny is one of the best IPs to ever work at ASA. He wants you to do well, and will probably make it seem more like 2 guys talking about airplanes than a type oral. Fair, reasonable and just an all around good guy. You got lucky drawing him as the IP.
