Thanks for the info, XP/OO. Seems like it'll be quite limited for pax outbound if the weather is bad and/or there is a contaminated runway there.

Hope Delta is charging a nice premium for those ATL-ASE tickets...

Double post due to FI's unreliable server going down, then coming up, then going down again, then coming back up again....

Departure from ASE with a contaminated runway is not allowed. Also, I listed the landing mins for a circle-to-land, but SkyWest does not do the circle-to-land. One way in, one way out. Gotta love those days when its snowing heavy with a nice strong wind from the south.

Do you guys get an override for that kind of flying? Or is that a company freebie for overachievers.

We actually get down to 842 AGL and if we can't see it at 5 nm we are missed. We can also go in there at night w/ the same mins. We get to bid hard lines. No PBS fun bunch for us, 83 hour credit guarnatee. We get weathered out quite bit. We also fly from LAX, SFO and ORD. ATL will be a haul XPOO has got the rest right.

oh.....

In SLC its a way to potentialy get less 4 days. In DEN its a junior manned pay cut. People get forced to sit reserve and fly low paying trips, loosing out on QOL and $$$$.

I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver's full of sh!t, man. "

Okay here is the deal, I flew the avro into the beautiful aspen california airport. I have also done two missed approaches in actual (bad snow storm). It was by far the most frightening moments in my airline career (or for that matter ever). Now, from what i hear from experts at aspen, that no CRJ would make a balked landing while flying into that airport. One quote I heard was that it would be a matter of time before there is an accident. I also heard that the initial FISDO answer was no they cannot do it. Then they went to DC and asked someone higher up the chain and got the answer they wanted. So be warned. I for one will never take a crj into ASE
