OK, so get this....

Rumor has it that the 6 guys (actually 5 guys and 1 girl) that fly the CL601 for Wal Mart found out yesterday that their services are no longer needed... because "its the right thing to do for the company." So, they have the choice to seek other positions within the company (yeah, right!), go back to domestic flying and take a yet-undisclosed pay cut, or take a severance package. 1 crew was greeted with this news at the steps of the airplane as they came back from a 5 day trip to Europe.... All in a year that the company is making record profits! How's that for "respect for the individual"?

So, if any of y'all know of any good CL gigs, how about posting them here and maybe giving the poor bastards a break!

People don't care about Wal Marts destructive practices........ they just want their low prices...

Wal Mart has a ready response Learjet to dispatch on demand to for any union activity that surfaces...

They have tons of respect for the "individual", (the individual SHAREHOLDER), as it should be. This is a capitalist country, not the Peoples Republic of China. As for the pilots, I'm sure they will do quite well, given their Type and experience in the aircraft. Though, I find it hard to believe that they did not get at least a couple of weeks notice. However, it's a new day. No more 30 years at the same company and a gold watch.

Walmart is a firm believer in socialism. They let the state governments pay for their employees health care rather than cover them. A curious combination of entrepreneurial spirit and government subsidy.

you mean every citizen pays!! But lets not restrict unrestricted free market capitalism...even if it is subsidized by......everyone!

Just remember, that selfish attitude is costing YOU money. No one expects to be at a job for 30 years anymore, but a multi-billion dollar company dumping their pilots with barely a pat on the back, come on! I guess the only pilots at Walmart that have job security are the ones that crew the anti-union jet!

ANYONE WHO SHOPS AT WALMART OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!

Two words...NET JETS.

Its not a CL gig, but it will pay more money and yield a better QOL than Walmart will EVER will...and they'll fly from home too.

Good post Bender. But, unfortunately, "common sense" will get you no where on this thread.

QOL is defined in many different ways. For me, Netjets (that's one word :D ) is a good fit. For others, being home every night--like the Wal-Mart guys usually are--is much more important.

Everybody wants something different out of life...

Not sure where to go with this but as long as they can still keep flying the rest of the fleet it's not that bad and could be a lot worse. As for having to take the pay cut, the pilots involved I think have been around there long enough where that shouldn't come as a surprise.

Sorry to see this happen to anyone...

Hot-

Bender forgot to include the facts about walmart that are destructive and unethical to individuals and communities...

It is not that walmart needs to go way.. they just need to change thier ethics....

To just say "If you don't like walmart don't shop there" and ignore the ethics and destructive is irresponsible...
