does it matter? I could say JA, BH or any top SGU type, or 'a very senior captain' and you'd still poo poo it.

like I said, though, I don't buy it.

I heard that same thing. what I was told is that the airline that came to us with the deal said it'll depend on the outcome of the drive, not Jerry passing on it.

Righhhhhhht, another airline would tell JA that the only way they would let us do flying is if our pilot group isn't ALPA...happens all the time.

NOT!!!!

P.S. Have another heaping glass of koolaid while it's still fresh!

I'm just trying to point out how ridiculous these statements are without a source. I don't buy it either.

Then why did you say?

I heard that if we "deal BH an ace" by voting down ALPA, then we will be rewarded with a huge pay increase across the board and everything will be just wonderful forever after...oh wait, thats already happened several times and then we don't hear from management or SAPA again until the next union drive starts up!!

Sad but true. Those who don't study/learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

So if ALPA gets voted in, this "huge new contract" suddenly won't exist anymore? I'm sure the shareholders would love the fact that Jerry and the gang are passing up big business because they denied growth to their employees out of spite. Do you guys over there really believe everything you hear?

It's not ja and gang. It would be the major partner that is nervious giving airplanes to an airline that may strike over a contract. look around, what airline got huge growth durring contract talks? NONE!

The fact is when you go into a new contract you give up about 3-5 years of your life.. Nothing changes in that time. Maybe a few upgrades do to attrition but not any huge growth. ALPA is a big commitment out of the SkyWest pilots near future. Things wont change overnight and more likley not for 3-5 years. I'm glad this is over in less then 24 hours.
