I know it all first hand. 52 grand from the claim, 113 ( 60 after taxes). As a former PAA, DOH 1972, you are correct, I was on the Delta property for 15 yrs. (still pretty respectable). You seem to have all the answers, so you know how much my lump sum would have been.
My health care is unaffordable, and there is no survivorship for my family. You think 165 thousand mostly taxable dollars compensates me for my loss. Well, I guess you probably do.

15 years is fairly respectable, I don't know why you originally felt the need to suggest that you were a DAL pilot with 34 years of DAL service instead of 15. The Delta Pilot Retirement Plan was soft frozen in 2004, so you actually only accrued 13 years of service under the DPRP, I'm sure you accrued far more at PAA and Ransome, where you spent the majority of your career.

Let me see you are a PC-3 pilot, the Delta Pilot Retirement plan had assets of $1.7B and PC-3 benefit liabilities of $2.1B, that should cover 81% of your pension liabilities, on top of that the PBGC received a $2.2B claim plus a $225M cash settlement, additionally the DPPP (which represented retired pilots in court) received received a large cash settlement. By law these assets need to be distributed to PC-3 pilots. Yeah, it's a safe bet that the remaining 19% of your pension is covered. How did your PAA and Ransome pension pay out for you?

Man alive, that would be a blast. Whenever I do upgrade and get an FO who flew KC10s, I will make him do two full walk arounds each leg just to get it "right." Nah, I wouldn't do that. I will buy the 3rd and 5th beers. Also, I hope you do get Fedex and UPS, and we still USED TO pay better than both of them. Can we do that again? I don't know, but I think we will raise our current rates. And SWA does have us beat right now pay wise, but you can BET that our negotiators will compare their 737 Captain pay and our 777 and 764 Captain pay, and I have a feeling ours will go above their's. It just makes sense, and without a BK judge nearby, I think it will go. Look at AA, they are asking for a 53% raise. Everyone will be watching them first.

I really hope you all get it back. It's sad when SWA is setting the standard for the non cargo pilots. You guys really need to dig in your heals. I realize life was a little different in '03, but after seeing what mgt has done with the windfalls of the good times, it is definitally time to dig in.
