General,
Since you are unable to answer some basic questions in regards to hedges, please try not to share any opinions on the matter since you do not understand the purpose of them.
The answer to SWAdudes question, the results would be the same.
Profit or loss on the hedges results in roughly the same profit.
"We're on the deck, we have a salute and we need a windcheck."
Wow, thanks Professor. How's Ginger and Marryann? Can you try to teach me Calculus too?
I understand the concept just fine. And, I can share ANY opinion I want, and you can try to refute it. I don't really care. Seriously, you need to understand the concept that you will be doing multiple leg days with 25 min turns for the rest of your life, most likely on one aircraft type. That sounds fun, NOT.
Bye Bye--General Lee

General,
This is not news for any of us at SWA. Before we applied, we knew what it was like here. We knew about all the flying that SWA does and how it is done.
We still made the choice to apply at SWA and then made the choice to accept the offer of employment when it was made.
To this day....13 years later, I am doggone glad I left a "legacy" carrier to come here. It works for me....thats really all that matters
GL has to realize that once he capitulated and gave up pay they lost all thier leverage. The 25 minute turn thing is quite old and tired. He has to save face. I'm sure he was quite rah rah about pay cuts. I can remember him saying how it was probably going to keep them out of Ch 11. Obviously he was wrong. I can't remember, but I'm sure he said Song was the new Air Tran. Now that it looks like their numbers were worked by mgt to keep them from getting a raise he has to rah rah that. So now he bags on you SWA guys for your 25 minute turns and fuel hedges.
Whatever. If I was one of you guys I'd just ask him if he'd like to compare paychecks.
that's probably because Tanker Clown doesn't know his @ss from a hole in the ground. but he does fly a KC-10.Tank:

Most were given most of what they were owed. The PBGC was made "whole" by the claim sale, and the retired pilots also got an $800 million claim themselves. Some lost some healthcare benefits, but hey, we did go BK. I think most got more than they thought they were as we were going into BK. But, you knew all of that already.....? Lu---zer.

Hey Ginital,
What's more fun, a 25 minute turn or a pay cut?
General.....You can't possibly believe what you have just posted? Nothing could be further from the truth!
Hey Clown, you are slow, we all know, but you neglect to understand that I GOT $280,000 in the claim sale directly from BK. Of that $88,000 went to my 401Ks, and the rest was in cash which was taxed. I did very well, and the bottom guy who was furloughed the longest got over $200,000. In the meantime I am upgrading by next Summer most likely, and my pay will also be close to what it was prior to BK. One other thing, prior to BK we had a 75 hour cap on pay, even if you flew over it. (a bank system kept the over run of hours) Now we get paid what we fly. So, I really do make close to what I made.
But, you CAN'T HANDLE the TRUTH. Read above, again clowny.
