If you are wondering specifically about ANC heres the deal: They just hired the F/O for that base so no open positions for a while. Don't know if they are hiring street captains or not. It's a ATR run that leaves early morning, flies to FAI and comes back in the afternoon, about 2 hours flight time a day M-F. You must live in ANC. Some people love ANC and some hate it. It is crazy expensive and most of the pilots there have second/third jobs.

Our reserve policy has in it a callout min time for wheels up but I can't remember what that is. Two hours sounds pretty close. I myself have only been called out on short notice reserve twice in two years. For the most part you know a day or two out if your going to be doing anything on reserve days. How much you are used on reserve depends greatly on your base.

Hey Worm. I didn't know that you were at Extra. Congrats! How is it over there? I heard BT is upgrading into the 737 which is cool. I also heard that C.R. aka "Dr. Phil" is the chief pilot there. Can that be? It's good to hear from F&B too! JM "the Animal" just left for India with another one of our captains. Two more leaving soon to fly over seas. Myself, just got back from Bangkok for the interview.

yeah bt and i might be in the same upgrade class. it is pretty good over here. at least they know they are a 121 company rather than just pretending to be. i heard about the animal and you. big money and those indian girls are hot. dr phill is the chief pilot the other left to go to virgin america. congrats to f&b on getting to wear brown. let me know when you can recomend someone..

The Compass thing is not as rosey after doing the research. To much risk and not even close to enough reward. I'd rather get more PIC, then make a solid move to a major than leave now with less than 1000 PIC for a lateral move sitting on the right yet again for another 10-12 months. Only then to have NWA guys get pushed to Compass after they get rid of the DC9. After that Compass will be making money and in 4 years it will be sold off to the highest bidder and whipsawed with Pinnacle and Mesaba. Or so my magic 8 ball says.

Just out of curiosity did you get your 1000 pic yet?

Bling, I'm trying to get a good SLC overnight so we can drink some watered down beer. F&B, how do you like the Mad Dog? It's pretty easy to fly once you realize it flies itself!

Hey you old pelican! I look at the right seat of every southwest jet to see if you fill space or not. I cant wait to run up into the cockpit and tell your captain a little story about mustard.

On a second thought...

I would speculate that the Mad Dog is referring to the MD-11. But in my eyes the Mad Dog will always be the MD-80. Md-11 should, and is termed by the rampers, as the [FONT=&quot]Maintenance[/FONT] Delay 11...

There are three things you turned me on to that I use almost everyday.
1.-The George Foreman Grill
2.-The Great Lebowski and with it a terrible lust for White Russians
3.-Pad Thai noodles.
So, for sure we'll have to enjoy some King Fisher with some street-side noodles.
