Come back to the 50 or go to JFK :D

I'm sleeping in the bed that I made, anyway, this last bid put about another 30 people below me so things are looking up...it's just going to be a while.

Oh, and I originally went to the -700 for better pay and easier reserve. It's now horribly understaffed so I fly or sit ready every day, while my classmates are holding a line and making more money than me anyway. Sigh...so far in this industry I have seen two bankruptcies (one at ACA where I was hired but never went to class), three down-sizings, one furlough, over three years on reserve, nearly two years at first year pay, and zero months with a line. For you observers at home, do exactly the opposite of what I do. I'll get hired at UPS and someone will invent a way to teleport packages.:bawling:

Things hopefully will keep moving

latest bid packet says to expect 60 upgrades in the first quarter of 2008...

I was just joking around. I know some guy who will commit suicide before going to JFK for upgrade, and other who refuse to come back to the 50 seater as an FO.

Yeah, I'm not against the idea of going back to the 50 seater, but the trend seems to be more 76 seaters and fewer 50 seaters. If I went back I'd probably be put on reserve.:uzi:

Unless you got hired in the early 80's, upgrade was NOT below two years. I got hired at Comair in late 99. I took the first upgrade available, and it took a little over three years.
Unlike you I upgraded in the Brasilia in less than a year, then we all went on strike. That guy Fred made in just around two years prior to the strike.
You suck f@g. what's up?
How's the light twin?

G

I'm surprised you wouldn't hold a line now. Friends who were 06/06 hires are holding lines in CVG on the 50. Maybe it will change when all the bases close.

People really upgrade at Comair? I see that people are awarded captain but then the classes are usually cancelled.
I would put Comair in the same league as Eagle as far as upgrade times, and I'm sure Eagle will be improving in the future. I think you can upgrade at Continental faster than at Comair.

Come to the Fracs. Life is 10x better then any airline and you get to go to some of the most interesting places. No more Hub and Spoke.

i thought upgrade was a good 10 years, most of the comair captains I see all look like they knew wilbur and orville personally!

Some old fricks at OH. I had an MCO captain that looked like he was two weeks away from a ventilator.

I have to admit that was hilarious. I think the same thing sometimes as I sit on 4 hour breaks in CVG and watch people waddle around concourse C.

I'd take Orville Redenbacher before the kid from the "Dude, I gotta Dell!" commercials.
