I've just been given a start date with Allegiant. I know their pay scale is low but I hear talks of a pay raise. The raise is suppose to be sometimes in late September.

Anyone know anything about it?

No word yet and it probably won't be until November.

FYI.. Any raise will be for year 2 FOs and beyond.

Wow, that was quick, news travels fast.

Negotiations to commence next week and expected to conclude mid Oct. Expecting a 3-year deal. Looking at potential sizeable improvements in several areas. It will mark the 5th consecutive year of improvements in '$'s and QOL.

In spite of some complaints recently about the company on this forum, most who work here would probably agree it's a good place to work. We have work to do but we're getting there.

PS--Primaris might be a bit risky, ya think?

Thanks for the info. Primaris is risky, but I didn't know much about them and was hoping someone who worked there might answer.

Allegiant seems that it is a good place to go for a long term career choice. As far as the pay raise goes is it only going to be for second year pay and after that?

I know their starting pay is more than most majors, but the second year is low compared to some.

I know you really can't give an exact answer but is there talk as to how much any pay raise might be?

What base are you at and do you like working there? I believe I can find out more about a company from someone who works there than any website.

thanks again for the info.

Apparently it's ok to go to work for Allegiant, even though they pay less than Skybus or Virgin America?

Here we go again. A little research might be in order. Skybus pays $30,000/year for FOs, $65,000 for Capts. Looking at the Allegiant payscale (due to be revised, again, pending upcoming negotiation) you'll note Allegiant pays significantly more than not only Skybus, but most legacies. When compared to the legacy carriers, it may only be first year, but we're making progress in later years too. Stand by.

Unlike Skybus, Allegiant has a bright future because of its strong business plan and cash flow. We're getting better by the day. Not to compare AAY to SWA, but I've been around long enough to remember pilots scoffing at the ridiculous prospect of working for them too.

Keep laughing and best of luck at Skybus.

You need to ask yourself if a company like Allegiant is lowering the "bar", or raising the "bar"...

It has raised the bar for it's own pay every year now.

Why doesn't someone start up a LCC with Legacy +5% pay? Oh yeah, IT WOULD'NT WORK.

You have to look at each company individually and you will see a pattern emerging. Start up with low pay and as the company grows, so does the pay. Also, Allegiant doesn't have brand new airplanes, just some old ratty MD80's and we don't operate like other airlines either.

Negotiations? Who's doing the negotiations? I didn't think you guys had a union.

What is this doing on the Majors board?
4 days from the last reply to this question. Wasn't it buried by now on page three or so of the majors board?

We have an in house "group" and a very pilot friendly D/O who have done a great job moving things foward for us. This "group" could very easily become a union next week if need be, but for now the company seems to be very fair to us every year as they grow.

Where can a newhire expect to be based?? Just sent in my stuff, but would really like to stay on the east coast.

Three east coast bases, chances are good. Right now I don't think the Ft. lauderdale base is full for F/O's but could change

Good Luck!!

I interviewed and was given a start date. I wasn't told where I would be based, but then I didn't ask. I was told by an employee that they assign you a base a base in training. The same guy working there told me everyone he knows got the base they wanted within a few months.

I can't give you an exact answer but it sounds like there are several who have responded who can probably give you a better idea than me.

But it does sound like they try to get you where you want to be.

If everyone would stop asking that, the thread would go away....like it was.....until he asked the question!
