Who knows what will happen now with a CEO finaly in place...

http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/0830biz-jetblue30-ON.html

JetBlue's struggles have many wondering whether it's an acquisition candidate, speculation fueled by a June Goldman Sachs research note on Delta Air Lines Inc.

Delta management "seemed eager to discuss the strategic logic of a JetBlue-Delta combination," Goldman analysts wrote after a meeting with top Delta executives. "We understand this was not the first time (Delta) articulated an interest in JetBlue."

A Delta spokeswoman declined to comment on what she called "rumors and speculation."

"Haven't been approached," Barger said when asked about the report. "I believe that organic growth is absolutely our game plan."

I wonder if they would like to get a hold of that terminal and E190s? Hmmmmmm? Nah?

Bye Bye--General Lee

That explains all of the numerous blacklights, closets and Hendrix posters at JB's HQ...

And I would like a 100 slots in LHR at premium hours, but that isn't going to happen either!

Oberstar would protect against smaller cities not getting service (via feeders), which would come if two legacies got together. Jetblue would be covered since Delta goes to all of the JB cities. But, it probably wouldn't happen, right?

Air France has already said they will be giving us slots, for free. Not 100, but 6 I hear to start with. They must really like us. Yes, Air France has lots of slots at LHR and they will be giving us some. No joke. I hear CAL would like some too, but can't find anyone who will sell them or give them away.

I dobut that this would be a DAL-JB combination as the artic states. It is more of a takeover.

What in the world is "organic growth?"
They're not going to use artificial pesticides or fertilizer?
Just curious...

Oppenheimer!!!!!Farfrumpuken!!!!

Wednesday SWA is announcing thier entrance into ATL and the New York market. Apparently getting gates at both places from Delta. They are also expected to announce a new international codeshare agreement with Delta which they claim is the catalyst for the new markets.

Maybe Delta is going to give SWA some gates in New York because they know they are getting a new terminal when they buy JB.

Jetblue Has Not enough CASH To Buy Delta.

But we have enough to buy you and grab the terminal and the E190s, and then staple 500 of you to our list. But, it won't happen, right?

SkyTeam plan 'major' Heathrow slot trade

28.06.07
The airlines group SkyTeam is planning a major slot trade to allow its three US members to launch services from Heathrow Airport when the EU - US open skies accord comes into effect next spring, Airline Business magazine reports. Newly appointed SkyTeam chairman Leo van Wijk, who will step down in next week as KLM's chief executive and assume the role of SkyTeam's first permanent chairman, says the alliance approved plans at a Vancouver board meeting in early June to make Heathrow Terminal 4 a 'SkyTeam showcase'.
SkyTeam members agreed last year to CO-locate at Terminal 4 when BA moves most of its Terminal 4 operation to Terminal 5 next March. Mr Van Wijk said that KLM and Air France are now negotiating a slot trade with SkyTeam partners Continental, Delta and Northwest Airlines, which will give them the early morning arrival and lunchtime departure slots to launch services to Terminal 4, ideal for US routes. This will 'increase member airline representation' at the world's busiest international airport, he said.
Mr Van Wijk told the magazine that KLM will reduce its Heathrow - Holland services, possibly dropping its Heathrow - Eindhoven turboprop route, to make room for the launch of Detroit - Heathrow and Minneapolis - Heathrow services by transatlantic joint venture partner Northwest. He said: 'when you compare the profitability of that [Eindhoven] to a transatlantic operation, it's a no-brainer'.
He added that Air France is willing to make room for Delta's planned Atlanta and New York services by reducing its Heathrow - Paris Charles de Gaulle route, which is suffering from increased competition from high-speed train operator Eurostar. Mr Van Wijk also said that Air France and KLM have agreed to transfer slots to Continental, which is looking to launch a Houston - Heathrow service (that would compete with BA's Houston flights, which will transfer to Heathrow next March it announced yesterday).
'Multiple schemes' will be used to carry out the slot transfers, he said, adding: 'We won't give away slots but need to ensure we get a reasonable return or share in the profit.'

Wow, I stand corrected. I knew AF would give us some, and KLM might give NWA some, but I guess Skyteam gave CAL a couple for an IAH rotation. Well good for them.

Bye Bye--General Lee
