Not that the business model Spirit was trying to achieve was a big secret, but I thought this press release was interesting....
Anybody know how easyJet staffs it's domiciles?

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (August 14, 2007) – Spirit Airlines® today announces the appointment of Martin Harrison as executive vice president and chief operating officer, reporting directly to Ben Baldanza, president and chief executive officer.
Harrison joins Spirit from easyJet PLC, one of Europe’s most successful Ultra Low Cost Carriers. At easyJet, Harrison served as head of crew resource planning, head of network operations, operations business manager and sat on the easyJet Operations Board. He also brings experience from British Airways, where he worked in various technical operations positions. At Spirit, Martin will be responsible for all Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Technical Operations, and the System Operation Control Center.

How does Easyjet schedule pilots? Someone told me 5 ON - 2 OFF, but I find that hard to believe. Even Ryanair has 5 ON - 4 OFF.

They will offer............and we will reject - maybe even nuke the LOA.

Shrek maybe you should read your ALPA Fastreads instead of hanging out on FI.

"
Fellow Spirit Pilots,

Your MEC met this morning via conference call and took the following action.

LOA 34 (Satellite Basing) was cancelled/revoked. According to the LOA, either party may cancel with 60 days notice. Notice was provided to Spirit in an email earlier this afternoon.

Fraternally,

SPA MEC Chairman"

How bout them apples?

Im sure this will matter to those 6 pilots more than it matters to the company. It is only 3 lines of flying (one of which is a relief line).

Maybe you're a more important apple, but this wasn't in my email inbox...

Hi
I am a new hire waiting for IOE.
I am not familiar with everything.
What s this LOA about?
Does it have to do anything with ACY?

Call ALPA National and give them your current email address

I got it, albeit a little later. I guess yahoo's filter slowed it down some?

I have a hard time believing this is all over a few guys getting auto-assigned 3B. Why not just call it what it is? A clear message to management on the union's stance on satellite bases vs. actual bases.

It's a clear message to management that blatant contract violations lead to a loss of good will.

Beautiful........maybe now we can stop hearing the rumors about DTW becoming a SAT base.

It is for the greater good and I think the 6 pilots know this. Now let's focus on helping our DTW brothers with new accomidations and let the Negotiating Committee do it's thing towards an Section 6 TA that can be voted on by every pilot on the property.

We bargain TOGETHER or DIE alone........

Nice to see after how many days you finally saw that this was the CORRECT and appropriate action for the benifit of the whole pilot group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, why the delay?

More bang for the buck in a sense........besides the company has been raping the scheduling section of the contract for awhile now. One hand washes the other so to speak.

If they won't play by the rules then we must reciprocate in kind.

When we let emotion rule our decisions during contract negotiations then we have lost. This is chess not UFC.

Go do a search on pprune.org in the Terms & Conditions section.

EZY's schedules are brutal. But what little time you spend not flying, you'll be at home... TC

It should be UFC. "No Holds Barred." I would love to get JC in choke hold and make him tap out.

EasyJet rosters are 5 earlies, 4 days of, 5 lates, 3 days off. 25 vacation days a year.

I'm annoyed at the pilots who lied to me and told me Easyjet schedules are 5 ON 2 Off. Some people just like to get feathers ruffled.
