What are realistic days off?

Are trips more than a couple of days in a row?

Commute policy.

What can first year expect in hours ie. pay?

What is pilots contribution to Insurance?

Training contract?

Any other comments? Please keep it clean...

Hello ProPilot,
Here are some answers to your questions:

realistic days off: can vary, they advertise 8 but they could be between 6 and 10. Sometimes you have a day off but the reporting time for your next duty might be 1Z which would be 9pm local so boom, your day off is gone!!

Most trips are out and back unless a layover is scheduled(not very many), the a/c breaks down in an outstation and can't be fixed, or crew times out.

Commute policy: well, does not exist. According to the crew handbook pilots must live in Dade(Miami), Broward(Ft. Lauderdale) or Palm Beach counties, since ops gives crewmembers a 2and a half hour callout prior to your trip. You could try and bid the 8 days off they give you in a row but no guarantee that you will get them.

Pay: It cold get close to $38k to $40k a year if you factor in overage and per diem.

Insurance contribution: It varies. I can only tell you about family coverage and it will run you up to $600 a month.

Training contract: none, you can walk away any time. About close to 30 crewmembers have left this year.

Well my friend you wanted it clean. If you want the really interesting stuff go to amerijetcrewmembers.com and check out the latest info about what is really going on.

Cheers

They had a booth at the Jan AIRINC job fair. All I can say is that those guys looked mighty lonely.

I worked there for a year and trust me they suck. Most people who start there leave before their six month anniversary. Their reputation as being a scumbag operation is preventing them from bringing in the qualified personnel they desperately need. My advice...stay away.

Stay away from Amerijet. The management treats pilots like dirt. For years they have not given any pay raises, claiming negotiations with the union. Well guess what, management is laughing at the union and its pilots, so pilots are going to strike. They lost 30 pilots in 6 months and every pilot is trying to leave. Very long days, and when you do the math you are working for peanuts.

My past experience at amerijet was very degrading and many times insulted by their egotistic, abusive and incompetent management!!!
I understand that the Union is ready to Strike any time within the next few months. My sincere advice to all is don't risk scabbing for this outfit. That is all they will need you for!!!!!

This was a scumbag outfit 20 years ago, when I used to see their crews unrolling sleeping bags to sleep in the plane. Yep, they did subservice for Burlington AirFreight into AUS and the company was too cheap to get the crews hotels, so they slept in the plane. Course, it was a damn cold winter that year, so them runnin the APU all night prob offset the savings on the hotel. Things don't change at outfits like that.
