I've heard that they were meeting today. It seems that in the past months, the board meets the beginning of the week and calls start towards the end of the week/weekend.

From my own personal experience with a SWA DB and those of friends of mine, usually the DB meets on Tues or Wed and calls will not start prior to Friday.

That seems about right, and as someone else said, yes, they are known to call on the weekends. Hopefully we hear when the calls start going out....

Yes calls typically start on Friday. Depending on which Chief Pilot's list your name is on, they will call during the weekend also. Some will wait until Monday morning.

I got my call at 8:02am on Monday morning. It's tough waiting once you know they've met, but it's totally worth it!

Best of luck guys...

Got the call at 8:20 PST on the Mon after the DB too...

Good luck to all.

Has anyone heard anything yet? Best of luck to all.

Any idea how the slowing down of deliveries and hiring will affect those that have interviewed already?

I'm just wondering if they're taking their time, given the fact that classes aren't being filled as fast. Just a thought.

FWIW, when the calls go out depends on which of the chiefs or people dept folks have your name on their list. I didn't get called til the next tuesday or wednesday.

And no, they will not delay calls because they are slowing growth. If they made the decision to "continue the process" (hire you), waiting longer to call you and tell you won't solve anything. Slowed growth will more affect how many they call in to interview in the following months. Aircraft recently acquired need pilots now.

This is the toughest several days... I remember it well. Hang tough. Good luck to all, but remember, worst case scenario, if you have to interview again in a year the company sees persistence as a positive and your odds are better. One of the best captains I ever flew with got hired on his 3rd time.

I know, not very reassuring now. Good luck to all!

reading on another board that the letters have been mailed out but the calls dont seem to have started as of now.

Good luck to everyone!!

Maybe they don't like to call on Friday the 13th. I was on the April board and calls didn't go out until Monday the 16th.

huronip,
When did you interview, and do you have a class date yet?

I interviewed the first week of April and thought I'd be in class on the 1st of Aug. I guess I might have to wait till the 15th.

I interviewed March 19th with the type. I'm actually not available until August 15th and I'm hoping to be in that class too. I guy I know interviewed on March 9th and just got called last week for the August 1st class. I'm hoping to get a call next week.

Thanks huronip,

I hope to be in class then too!

Hopefully you guys get the call soon.

Does anyone know how many were selected to move on in the hiring process from the July DB.

I heard 70 were hired on this board. Still waiting on the call and dreading the letter. So far, it looks like no one has gotten calls yet.

July DB

Any idea on the number of pilots that went to the July DB? I'm guessing 250-320. Is 70 about average for the number that make it through the board?

The July board was not a full month of interviews. I believe they cut it off at around the 21th. I think they were doing 4 days of interviews per week so thats 12 interview dates with 15 or so on each date. That makes about 200 interviewies.

No call and no letter for me yet.

I interviewed May 9th, thought I would be in the June board. after weeks of waiting to here something I think I figure out why I haven't heard anything as of yet. Some people that interviewed in May did not make the June board so they roll over to the July board. I called them last week and they just said I should know something soon, and that it take six weeks to do the back ground check. Two months and still waiting....
