Ok, as some of you know I have been trying to do my homework on PSA.. The one thing i cant find is a route map, i know the domiciles are DAY, TYS, and CLT.. But my qiuestion is what routes/where do you fly from each domicile as well as at the end of the day do you usually end up back at your domicile or do you overnight somewhere....Thanks..

CLT-FAY
FAY-CLT
CLT-OAJ
OAJ-CLT
CLT-CHS
CHS-CLT
CLT-MEM

That is usually day 1 or day 4.

Day 2 and 3 are

MEM-CLT
CLT-GNV

CLT-FAY
FAY-CLT
CLT-OAJ
OAJ-CLT
CLT-CHS
CHS-CLT
CLT-MEM

That is usually day 1 or day 4.

Day 2 and 3 are

MEM-CLT
CLT-GNV

Classic! (Dont forget the Selcal message for the FO to call scheduling on the last leg of the 4th day)

Thanks for the replies, but I am still confused.. Is there any way of breaking it down by base..Ie, routes flown from each...Please make it simple, its totally new to me.. Thanks!!!
Also, schedules, how do they work

what does it matter? I mean really. Dayton does get more DCA and New York flying but they are all mostly the same. Back and forth to CLT. Just if you are based in Dayton then you see Philly more. It doesn't really matter, i don't think you will get a better quality of life at any other base. Maybe Dayton is better but maybe not. I would want my base to be the city i live in number one. Next where i can hold a line the fastest. Next would be....I don't know. Avoid commuting. good luck

Thank god you took that from PDT! I remember the 8 leg days worth 5.0hrs of pay!! You can have em'!!!

Sorry!

The short and simple answer is there is no route map because there are modifications to what base flies what routes and removal and addition of cities on a monthly basis. It changes a little all the time.

Some things don't change, though. DAY and TYS will do flying out of DCA, PHL, and CLT, the majority being CLT.

All CLT trips are turns back and forth from CLT.

There are a fair amount of cities we go to as well as a lot of routes that are frequently seen. For example, there are many daily CLT-FAY flights as mentioned above.

If you are trying to learn this for the interview, it's a good effort, but not something they are going to expect you to know or ask you in explicit detail.

If you are trying to just gain a gauge on what routes to expect, it changes a lot. Expect an average of 1 hr block time and 45 min of flight time per leg. I would guess that at least half of the departures are 20 and 30 minute flights.

Not to hijack your thread but can anyone confirm or deny that PSA has 5 airplanes parked because of lack of crews?

I believe 4 are out of service. 1 -200 and 1 -700 that are being cycled through C checks and were scheduled to be down anyway and an additional 2 -200s that have been temporarily parked due to short staffing.

We are up to 5 parked. 2 MX lines and then 2 200s and 1 700 parked for lack of crews. Also, the CLT ramp clipped two planes last week but I don't know if they are still OTS.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to gauge what routes/where I'd be if I get stationed in DAY or TYS....Do you usually end up back where your stationed each night, or somewhere else?

thanks..

The majority of the trips are 4 days. There are a few 1, 2, and 3 day trips, but most are 4 days. Meaning, you report to your base on day 1 and are done in your base at day 4. Plan to be away from home 4 days at a time.

hey. I am currently pretty new in aviation. My first interveiw is in two weeks with PSA. I was wondering if anyone had any advise and knew how long the upgrade is at PSA

You know, i hope some day, some of you morons, the ones who give people a hard time, either make a career change or are forced to make one, and get the same S$!& you give to people on here...

THanks for the replies guys....so 4 day trips, how many off in between?

Usually 2. Even the 14 day off lines will have the majority of the days off grouped together. something like 4 on 2 off 4 on 2 off 4 on 2 off 4 on 5 off 4 on 3 off. And then a trip will carry over into the next month and you'll lose days of on the next months bid. If you bid in the top 1/3rd you can do ok, but its taken me three years to get there. Movement is picking up now though.
