I just got the word from Glo in the Training Center. As of now, SWA is running one class in July, and two each in August and September.

Now if someone would post up when they get the call for class in Aug with their type/interview date that would be helpful to judge where you sit in the pool.

I interviewed March 19th with the type, on the May DB. I'm available August 15th and haven't heard anything.

May DB for me w/ type - was told I'm 5 classes away. This was 2 weeks ago.

Interviewed 1/24, DB 2/21, Typed 4/15, Spoke with SWA PD in early June, was told AUG 1, But still no offical word.

I think we are taking 5 airplanes in September.... that means we will need pilots by then. I see AUG picking back up.

Interviewed in Jan. called in Feb. Typed March 17th and just missed the July class. Havent heard anything for August yet but understand the give you atleast 3wks notice.

I think there is a decent possibility that we pare back the sked this fall and keep classes trickling at 1-2 per month...we will still grow regardless, so don't get discouraged but I wouldn't burn my RJDC card just yet either. I'd be ready to go at a few days notice if possible though in case someone drops out...lots of companies hiring right now and increased chances of that happening. I would not be shocked if we started parking some 500's (or maybe some 300's) this fall OR if we maybe sent several in for refurbing with winglets and whatnot on the inside as the schedule contracts some this fall.

When did you get this word from the People Dept?

I was informed indirectly from the people department that after the July DB they are expecting to have enough in the pool for the rest of the year.

Sucks for those of us waiting to interview again. It was already taking 18 months for reinterview, and that is expected to lengthen substantially.

I was told today to expect the second class in Aug tentatively slated for Aug 15. No official word yet, though. I was also told everyone slid back a class date or two due to only one class starting in July.

I interviewed 3/20 with the type, April DB, was told that I would be in the 7/18 class, but then 2 classes in July were cancelled. PD told me I was in the next class after the July 18th one, which I assume is early August. No call yet. I heard from a "manager" type that there were going to be 3 classes in August, 2 in September and that would probably be it for the rest of the year. However, that is re-evaluated on a monthly basis so they could still add classes if necessary. Good luck to all!

Wow 5 classes equals 100-120 pilots with 300 in the pool could mean swimming time in excess of 6-8 months. Will be interesting to see how many are selected in the July and Aug DB to add to the pool number.

Talked to PD yesterday and she said that they anticipate 2 classes in Sep (hopefully!)

I spoke with them last Friday and SM said the same thing. The tentative classes for Sept are the 5th and 19th. I will tentatively be in the 5th she said, should be firmed up in the beginning of August. Interviewed WITH the type on Feb 13th. Cheers...
