US Airways was last! I am surprized they were ranked that high!

Well, AA should be proud. They proved they can suck without going into bankruptcy. ;) TC

These "lists" have always been lame. It's ticket price. That's it. Do they really think someone pulls a little list out of their wallet, or does "research" online before buying a ticket?

"What's the cheapest fare that'll get me to Stinky Springs this Saturday? CattleCar Airways? Excellent! Sign me up!"

You beat me to the punch gorilla.

Although I am happy we are doing well from a survey standpoint its all about price, route structure and the ability to make money.

Years from now I don't want to be a party, drink in hand, reminiscing about the good 'olé days when I flew for a company that was #1 according to consumer reports.

Hopefully we can turn things around.

Was this done right after the Valentine Masacre at Jetblue? It must have been beforehand.

This was taken from another board but has some interesting observations. It looks like the survey was taken before B6's V-Day but there was a followup survey taken in April. The followup survey shows that there is a lot of good will out there toward B6!

So, some interesting observations on my part:
* They are all fairly closely scored, 60 and above is considered "fairly well satisfied".
* There are a lot of apples and oranges if you look at the whole list. I seriously doubt many surveyed would have traveled all or even most of the airlines. Still, you can draw your own subsets. For instance, of the big six majors, serving more than 100 destinations at a national scope, Continental ranks highest. Of the smaller LCCs, ATA and AirTran are lowest.
* They mention a followup survey in April after the JetBlue and USAirways weather meltdowns. "JetBlue remained among the top rated carriers... USAirways fell another 10 points to 52". Interesting! B4 aircraft are apparently using new teflon technology!
* Why is American Eagle included?? Because they recently reached the top 10 in revenue IIRC? Why not also include Comair or Skywest or Mesaba or Chautauqua? To include American Eagle is almost singling out a fig from the apples and oranges. IMHO. Interesting that the score for the regional, while lower, is not statistically different from the mainline.
* Comfort seems to ignore the fact that airlines have varying fleets. They mention that Midwest Express has 4-abreast, but we know that isn't the case on all flights. On the other side, they contrast NW with 17" wide seats, but wouldn't that vary depending on whether you were on an A320, 757, A330, or 747? (OK, since this is limited to domestic, maybe just the A320 stands out.)
* Regarding on-time performance, note that these are customer surveys, not based on facts and figures like on-time records gathered by DOT.
