can any of you tell me, generally, what the loads are like between ATL-GSP?

i am at that other airline based in ATL. thinking about doing the airline commute rather than the driving. I have my brother looking into it. he is a DAL 767 FO out of the LA area and has not done the ATL-GSP flight for a long time. he is checking the loads in general but, i was wondering if any of you had any idea of how many DAL/ASA/Comair guys were doing this commute.

yea, i know he can give me listings, ect... just looking for some recent experience.

thanks in advance to any that can help....

I don't think it is too bad. If you want to check the DL mainline flights jumpseats from GSP--ATL, ask your brother to check in the Delta crew telephone number. That will tell him if there is an actual jumpseat signed up for that actual flight. I know that sounds like a pain, but you are his brother. I don't think he can do that on the DCI flights, but he can see the loads on Travelnet. Good luck.

thanks, GL. i appriciate the insight.

he usually does the redeyes and our scheds do not mesh that well for last minute reading of jumpseats. thats why i was wondering about the recent experience of DAL/ASA/Comair people flying gsp/atl and the opposite.

just trying to figure out what would be best....

thanks again...

Unfortunately we are down to only 2 mainline flights perday. Usually the early morning flights are OK but the others throughout the day tend to fill up. The last flight to atl leaves at about 1800.

There aren't too many commuters out of here but having so few mainline puts us on the jumpseat on the RJ's quite a bit.

I don't think it would be the easiest commute for a non Delta or DCI person but I'm sure there are more difficult ones as well. On the bright side, if the traffic is flowing its about 02hr10 from gsp to atl on I-85.

I would advise against the commute. I live in GSP and I drive. It is far less hassle and you get used to it. Generally takes me 21/2 hours to the parking lot. Makes line bidding easier too. I usually bid to start at lunch time and finish either early afternoon or after six to miss the rush on 85N.
Th RJ's fill up quick and not all of the operators are CASS.
