Leaving that company was the best move for me. Nothing like Allegheny that was a good place to work for. But Piedmont really SUCKS big time, they threat you like a garbage crew schedule threat you bad I mean $5000 is not enough to work there. But if you go there don't say nobody told you about it.have fun flying the DASH 8 100

Wsurf already gotcha on the whole Trout being gone thing, so I'll let that little slip alone.

We slam people for paying for training. We bash companies for failing to pay pilots wages and provide reasonable accomodations during training. We tell pilots all the time that they shouldn't work for "bottom feeder" airlines which compensate thier pilots below the industry average.

So...

Here we have a company who pays you during training, that doesn't have a training bond, that provides hotels to the new hire pilots. The rates of pay are comperable to other companies for the equipment and the contractual work rules will stand up against the contracts of any regional you can name. In addition, they are giving new hires $2,500 just to show up, then another $2,500 to stay a specified period of time. And we are complaining about this? I wish someone had given me a signing bonus when I got hired at TSA 8 years ago.

It seems to me that you, dear poster, are being a tad inconsistant. I imagine you used to work at ALG, and that may be coloring your judgement a tad. I am on my second regional, and while things here at PDT are far from perfect, they are certiantly better than they ever were (or could be) at TSA. The hassles here are the same as they would be at any regional airline. Sorry you had such a rough time, but from the tenor of your post I am guessing you may have brought some of that bad news down on yourself.

7 years, never had much of an issue. Not always happy, but I have always been able to make things work pretty much to my advantage by telling them to go to hell... But making them look forward to the trip.

Whats wrong with a Dash anyway? Can't handle it big guy? (Insert word for feminine cleansing product here).

just the ebb and flow of the times. in another 24 months or so (give or take a few) pilots will be begging for any pilot job.

years ending in 7 thru 0-1ish are good, years ending in 0-1ish thru 05-06ish are bad. look back all the way to the 60's and the cycle shows this.

where will you be when the music stops???

Were you drunk or on drugs when you typed your post? Maybe you were sober? In that case I'm sorry.

Uh...no its not!!
Hmmm, lets see....get paid $3,750.00 ($5,000.00 after taxes) to take a job that pays $19,032.00/year (72 hrsX24.00X12X.75 + perdiem of 200 hrsX12X1.45) which equals a grand total of...drum roll please...$22,782.00/year! All that cash for being away from home 250 days a year.

Better than Mesa.
