Their fares may be below Greyhound's fares, and people from the weeds who have never seen an airplane may try to buy those $10 fares on a mysterious machine called a "computer." Is this going to create a whole new market, or dig into the LCCs passenger base? Is there a finite amount of passengers who want lowest fares with little or no service? Who will be affected by 75 A319s with 156 seats each flying around the nation? Discuss.

Is it true that their uniforms will have paper hats?

it is a SAD day... True is the name, "SKYBUS". Nothing more, nothing less. Simply, "SKYBUS". Truely scraping the bottom in commercial aviation. Actually letting the bottom fall out......

Little or no service is what passengers are used to -- thanks to the legacy carriers and their 1000 year old Stewardesses (oh I mean Flight Attendants).

Shame train lyrics

People all over the world...join in...fly the Shame train...Shame train...(2X)

Alllll of you pilots, over at Pinnacle...
Tell all the folks at Eagle, and Piedmont too...
Don't you know its time to get your resume...
and join this startup, join this startup airline that's new....

Chorus (2X)

Staaaart all your trips out of the C-bus...
You won't believe all the places that you just flew...
You'll get to see the beauty that is the Quad cities...
You might see Lansing, Akron/Canton or Kalamazooooooo...

Why are we even talking about this dog and pony show? This dumb Skybus idea will be over before it starts.

What is shameful about going to work?

Thanks for showing your age dude. Skybus (AKA Shame Train) will bring pilot wage averages down. Perhaps you have a trust fund and just don't care....

These Captains don't mind flying advanced airplanes for peanuts - what does that say about our profession? $65K for a captain of an A319? Are you serious? The pilots who have signed on for this are fully aware of the implications for our profession - that's the problem. So, do you want to work hard your entire career and progress upwards to a PIC slot and then get $65K for your efforts? Really? Think about it...

instructordude...i will leave the bashing to the others for what you say, but i will comment on one thing i noticed.

Please don't be "that guy." You know, the one who loves himself so much that he has to take pictures of himself in an airplane and post them for everyone to see as his avatar...it's really GAY!!!!!

Ok, rant over...everyone continue about their day now...thank you.

$4 says he has a bumper sticker on his car saying "My other car is a JET!!"

I like the idea of referring to Skybus aircraft as "shame train" going forward. You can say, "I've got the Shame Train 319 in sight." That would work.

Are you kidding me? He's a GJet pilot? Yeah, the Shame Train will be the only option for him going forward. From the CR7 to the Bus with very little salary increase EVER... Have fun.

I shame train it is

Why not Mesa? Why not Go Jets? I think Go Jets is alot worse than Skybus. Although the salaries at Skybus are terrible, Go Jets pilots displaced their fellow brothers onto the street. While everyone must look out for themselves in this industry, I do believe that there is still a brotherhood amongst us pilots. Whether or not it shows on this board, it does when you fly. There are common courtesies that are evident in the sky that are not when you are away from the job. I believe that is why we all have such a feeling of mistrust and shame for those that go to a place like Go Jets.

I feel like one of the reasons everyone has so much frustration is that we feel we are powerless to changing this. Why cant Congress put together a special subcommittee on pilot wages/work rules, etc. like they do for other things?
