As I had indicated in a previous email, it was my belief that our days were numbered in the Camp Creek lot once Delta decided to take over the ATL gate and ramp operation. With the transfer of approximately 1300 employees from ASA to Delta on June 1, the Camp Creek lot cannot accommodate current ASA users and the addition of former Lot 3 ASA employees according to Delta.
Effective June 1, all ASA employee airport parking will be at the new Lot 3 (the old Northwest hangar) on the south side of the airport. We are planning to add more buses and will continue the Express bus system. More details to follow, just a heads up for now.

Funny story, really. They have pushed back the date on when we're moving there because no one bothered to look at the "new" lot. Apparently it is in such bad shape you can't get into/out of it without an SUV. They must do some repaving before it can be used. No company memo about that one though, you just have to figure it out from the various signs on the bus. Look for the one wedged between the various threatening TSA messages.

Maintenance guys were saying that it's all moving to the Delta North hangar. Don't know when though, too bad we can't park there. Then ASA would make us take the "Red Roach" (Red Roof) van to work!!!

Not sure on an exact date, but one of my neighbors works for a large construction company here in atlanta, and he has been working on getting their bid together to re-do the delta north hanger area. Saw the preliminary design drawings yesterday, looks pretty slick.

If they do close the MCN hgr to DL North it will help us a great deal from riding the LIMO to test fly and ferry a/c down there. It should also save the company a great deal of money from associated crew/fuel and transportation cost.

How many txs have you gotten the call to ride the LIMO to pick up an airplane to get down there and it is not even ready? The whole day is shot and you're not even getting paid for it.

When I read what you wrote above, I can only assume you were minutes from passing out. I hope you remembered to chug some H2O before you did.

I think the old NWA hangar facility would be a better chocie, but then, BL didn't ask my input. Hell, they could move what's left of the G/O there, have us park there, move the parts warehouse there, and move MCN Mtc there too! Even park some of our birds there, and bus the passengers to the terminal...righttttttttttttt!

Don't know for sure, but I heard the NWA hangar practically qualified for a EPA Superfund site. With NWA in bankruptcy they might be able to escape the responsibility for the clean up. If the law is the way it used to be, who ever takes it over would become a target for the costs of remediation which is done by select government approved contractors for rates that are legalized piracy. If that hangar is the mess that it is rumored to be, I don't think any Company will touch it.

Haven't heard that, but wouldn't doubt it. Guess we'll know soon enough when we begin parking there, and our car tires are dissolved after returning from a 4 day trip!

Yeah, my neighbor worked there in the plating department. They used a lot of costic soda and cadium. I would hope that ASA mismanagement would know better than to open that can of worms. But you know them.

Here's a "leak" for you...

The GO is being closed. Most of the essential positions are being moved to St George or eliminated June 1st. All that will remain in ATL is critical local funtions, like dispatch and maintenance control. This handful of remaining ATL GO employees are being moved to the Delta North hangar.

That's why Gary G left (he's actually going to Flica!). He didn't want to relocate to SGU.
