Can anyone top this schedule?
Check this out. Seventy one hours time away from base, eight hours of deadhead, three nights in a hotel, for a round trip worth less than three and a half hours of pay.
Can anyone top the efficiency of SkyWest's management of ASA's alter ego operation from Salt Lake City, courtesy of ******* in Crew Planning? If ASA's crews are less efficient than SkyWest's, I wonder why....
Total costs for Per Diem, non productive deadhead legs, and hotel are $2,075 for less than $438 worth of productive flying for the crew. In other words, if divided evenly amongst the crew members EACH crew member's costs for every hour of productive work is $257.74 and these crew members are not available to staff an airline which is critically short of employees.
Delta, SkyWest, ASA, or the shareholders should be angry that ASA's CRJ Flight Attendants cost more on an hourly basis than a topped out Delta 757 Captain picking up a green slip trip - all while ASA cancels flights, defers jets, gets schedule relief from Delta and pays overtime rates because crew planning refuses to recognize that sticking a crew at a SkyWest outstation and forgetting about them actually costs someone money.
It is negligence, pure and simple. A lack of caring about your Company, or your crews... and this is NORMALLY SCHEDULED in the bid package.
