All Quiet on the Frontier/Lynx Front.

Hello to anyone who is legitmately knowledgable on what is going on at Frontier/Lynx. Since the TA has been signed at Frontier what is the latest at Lynx? Are Lynx pilots going to be on the same seniority list as the regular Frontier pilots? What is the pay going to be like at Lynx? Is Lynx hiring right now and do they use the same airlineapps.com application that Frontier uses? I really hope that this Frontier/Lynx operation is not the next TSA/Hojets type operation at the LCC level, (fortunately I avoided that whole debacle) so I am trying to get myself educated before I fill out any applications. Thanks.

As for Lynx...

from what I have heard it is not going to be under one pilot peniority list. As far as i have heard there is not any flow up or down program built into it either.

They have started hiring. Mostly captains from what I understand. Requires a $65 app fee and captains make $50/hr. FO listing just when on line a few days ago at same fee for $21/hr. Mins are very high for the pay.

I was very interested in the postitions they offered for quite a while. But i have to admit that i am starting to lose it now. I find it strange that they are accepting resumes for FO's when there are still alot of qualified captain type left out there. Heck I applied with 1300 in the Dash, heavy jet time, Airbus type and cant even get a call. Am I like the plague? Frontier wont call even with an internal rec.

If you are looking for good options for employment. Compass might be a possibility, Allegiant is hiring in the MD-80. If you got 3000 hours and meet there published mins you can get called. Just a few options for you.

What a F@#%-in joke!

I wonder how much $ they're making off of the app fees alone. I have been following Lynx's progress for awhile b/c I have Q4 time and would like some more--but NO WAY will I pay 65 buckin fukkcs to apply to fly for $50/hr street capt, or $21/hr FO on the Q. I think starting FO at Horizon is $29/hr. What a joke.

A friend of mine interviewed there in Jan for a Capt position. He said that as of today he has never heard anything back from Lynx nor have the 3 guys that interviewed with him. He said that between the 4 guys they sent a few emails to Lynx HR and never heard 1 thing back from them. They were never told that they did or did not get the job. Would you want to work there?

Geez If I had 1500 hours with 500 turbine I would have been at a regional already!

I think the high mins are due to the fact that pilots who go there will probably be on a very fast track for upgrade once the second delivery of aircraft arrives.

As far as one senority list, no way. The scope of the new F9 contract doesn't allow it.

Funny how everyone puts a company down for charging fees and "only" paying 21 an hour when a couple of years ago all of you would have happily spent much more to go work for a company that pays half that, and some of you did.

To the original post...as has been said, No to the same list. I don't know when they are going to start operating, i have heard everything from proving runs in may to proving runs in august, and first revenue flights anywhere from june to december...so i don't think they even know what they are going to do right now. As far as pay, sure, what someone else posted sounds good. TSA comparison...well, looks like they are going to fly locally for now, so hopefully that means there should be no direct effect on mainline or the republic flying. Really, thats all i know, because they are not announcing anything to us either right now.

Not me. Never PFT'd or PFA'd(paid for applying).

I was mainly commenting negatively on the app fee, and paying $21/hr for a 74ish seat a/c. If the 2nd yr pay jumps to the $30's-$40's/hr well then that's a different story, maybe.

Jenga...I never mentioned PFT'ing...App fee's though...hmmmm...last i recalled Airlineapps.com charged a per month fee to apply to their airline clients, and those airlines only take apps over that system. Oh yeah, you can do it for free if you want to put all your eggs into one basket...yeah, you know what i mean. As far as pay goes, i have no idea what the second year is, nor do i really care, i bypassed the whole living in poverty issue by going a different route through my career...talk about a smart decision. Got me to the exact same place everyone else wants to go, and i could actually pay my bills the whole time...what a concept. And no i am not trying to ruffle your feathers...i am simply stating a point.

I think most people were taken aback that an airline NOT ACTUALLY FLYINIG YET, flying turboprops for sub-industry rates has the gall to actually charge for applying. That's all. Airlineapps.com is a service that allows one to apply to one airline for FREE. That would be a real airline like Frontier, or Delta, or CAL, or Spirit, etc that actually operates airplanes. If you want to apply to every airline you can fill out an entirely new app FOR FREE. If you want to just fill it out once then you pay the fee. I personally think ever paying for applying is lame but the airlineapps.com system seems to match the industry precedent.
Why do you have to stick up for Lynx and in the process bash half of the guys you will be flying with at your new job (Great lakes pilots)? They all deserve the job at Frontier just as much as you. Don't be so pompous, you have no reason to be.
