Anyway, Delta is probably ONE OF Boeing's best customers, and a better one than USAir. I have no idea what part of the production line DL or US would be in for the 787, but I would suspect that we would be able to get a better production number, or sooner completion than USAir would. We'll see I guess.
what are you smoking these days general? Or did you have an uncomonly hard landing that knocked a screw loose? Doug Parker is a lot of different things to US Air employees but a saint is not one of them. What is truly sad is your undying loyalty to the company which screwed you and your family. Reminds me of a battered wife making excuses for her husband. You arguing with LCC pilots about whose airline is better is like two people in a trailer park fighting over whose double wide has more square footage....lol...

Now we've heard several opinions and many good ones. Now try this on for size. True we are a huge airbus customer and true BA would love to get our business. This puts us in one hell of a great bargining position with airbus. Think of the possibilities, we could get several A330's and new A340's with outstanding rates and maybe other perks thrown into the mix like free maint over several years, or fuel costs, maybe no payments for three years. The possibilities are endless here for us.
General, just so you know SWA is BA's best customer not DAL!! DAL ordered a bunch of shady 80's amd MD90's when they could have ordered TRUE BA equipment...

Thanks for the update. I had no clue that SWA only had Boeing planes. I thought they were all airbus aircraft..... Hey, gotta question. When Delta now needs a part for one of our MD88s or MD90s, who should they call? Ghostbusters?
Bye Bye--General Lee
Most of your frequent flyers probably live in trailer parks. I bet they had fun flying on Menstral Jet (your old RED 737-200s).
You need to understand something about DL and the management that screwed us over. Most of them are gone. Really. Grinstein told many of them they would not be getting any bonuses and most left or retired. True fact. There are some that will do well no doubt, but overall our management will get a lot less of the new company (3.2%) than other managements (United got 7-8% and NW got almost 5%). Grinstein gave his approx $10 million bonus to a DL charity fund for scholarships and emergency mishaps. He didn't have to do that, and his kids are probably kicking him in the nuts right now, hoping they would inherit that. We are a lot happier now that we were when Leo and the boys (and gal Michele Burns) were running the place. We are also very happy your frat boy Parker isn't in charge.
And in airline circles, our name means good service, and yours means lost luggage. Really, it does, and Parker admitted that when he said he wanted to buy us to bring class to your airline.
Bye Bye--General Lee
They ain't gonna call Ghostbusters, they are gonna call Bombardier and Embraer to replace those suckers!
Didn't DL used to fly OLD 737-200 for Delta Express? I thought so. Sure they were in much, much better shape than the Metrojet planes.
And yes, I used to fly to Ghetto-Jet.

When Delta now needs a part for one of our MD88s or MD90s, who should they call? Ghostbusters? That is what I thought. You are a genius. We are one of their BEST customers, and we will be ordering a lot more from them soon. I hear you MAY get some used A340-500s from Air Canada. Did you know that Singapore, Thai, and Air Canada are all trying to get rid of theirs? Why would they want to do that? Any reason why they would all want to dump them? Maybe they don't live up to the hype that Airbus stated initially? Makes you wonder, or it should make Parker wonder......Nah, maybe he could get them for a steal.....(just like DL in BK)
Bye Bye--General Lee
Wow Gen Gen your pannies too tight again???? I offer some soild "consider this" and you set about tearing me down, WTF. No question the 777 is a better a/c than the A330 and only the 340-600 is in the same ball game. The 500's are an ok aircraft but from what I have heard they are tough on fuel. Now the name of the game here is get in the game and we are making our moves on the international markets.
DL was never a steal but the offer did serve a purpose and let everyone know that this company is for real and have the financial means to make things happen.
Now lets discuss our BK exit, oh wait sorry YOUR bk exit. April 30 and only 2 billion?? there has to be more money somewhere there just has to be.
Tick tock Gen Gen tick tock...
WD.
We will raise additional cash when the new stock is issued. Our debt will be much lower than others, which will help too. You should know this stuff, both of your airlines (US and AWA) were in BK twice. Come on. And those A340-500s will under perform and cause some big headaches. When Singapore tries to get rid of a plane, that should mean something.
Bye Bye--General Lee
Gather round everybody the gen gen is getting a history lesson. AWA was in BK ONCE AAA prior to our taking them over was in BK twice but the entire op is making money bro!!! Now I know you want to have a big impact on this forum but again the name of the game is get in the game in the first place.
April 30 and you quote we'll raise the money:laugh: next time your mortage is due call your bank and tell them that you'll raise the money somehow...
Tick tock gen tick tock.
WD.
Tick tock....time counting down until we pound USAir. Parker really really wanted to see our books.
Bye Bye--General Lee
 Keep wishing my man keep wishing! For a moment there I thought you were my old work buddy 737Pylt.
WD.
Dude...
where have you been? The "handyman" work keeping you busy?
737
It pains me to write this as it will cause the General much glee.
787s for AAA/HP do not look to be in the cards at this time. Word from on high is that discussions between USAir and Boeing over 787 orders have taken place.
Boeing is apparantly not worried about finding 787 customers. When USAir expressed an intersest in ordering 787s Boeing countered that unless USAir was also interested in a sizable 737NG order Boeing would not discuss 787 production slots.
The ball is now in Tempe's court. What will happen? Your guess is as good as mine.
Sigh. I think I know what that means. My time on Boeings is borrowed I'm afraid.
It always was. There is absolutly no way the company would take on a huge NG order unless BA was willing to absorb the massive amount of training costs it would create just to name one item.
WD.
What massive training costs? Put current 737 guys into NGs with a little differences training versus long course for everyone to go onto busses?

The combined AAA/HP 737 fleet is between 120-140 aircraft. 737NG training costs are cheaper than the alternative - replacing all of those 737 classics with Airbi and having to put that many pilots through airbus class.
That is what I meant, but you put it alot more clearly than I did. I tried to phrase it as a rhetorical question to WDs post.
