Where's the fire, ladies?

I went to a large public school, and we had various factions of geeks and dweebs. The "Trekkies", the computer home-builders, the desperate horn-dogs (Wait! That was me!), and others who made a compelling case for retroactive birth control.

In a way, the losers simply made the competition pool for the hot women that much smaller.

And now they're our bosses! Doh!

(sigh)

You got that right!

You can't tell me Bill Gates never spent a lazy afternoon trying to un-tape himself from the goalposts at his high school...or banging the door of his locker (from the inside!) hoping someone would let him out.

That's one of the best posts I've ever read!

Why does everyone have such a hatred for Riddle? Shouldn't we have a hatred for regionals, I mean they are the ones promoting incompetence in aviation, or does the truth hurt just that much.

I wonder the same thing. PFTers does more damage to the industry than any school.

And let me guess.....you want to work at SWA? As poorly as all the majors are paying right now...you might as well consider it ALL PFT. Hell, it will take YEARS to get back to what we are making right now!

Yeah, Riddle is for Riddle-Aces and assorted orther losers, for the most part. This absolute and undeniable fact doesn't mean that there aren't exceptions to the rule, and I'm sure that every Riddle Grad here is one of those exceptions (snicker).

That said, I think the more interesting contention is that what Riddle-Grads get grief for is being unable to score tail vs. being strutting, poncing pricks who have to get their 300 hour CFI to sign off if they want to land in a crosswind.

Believing that your manhood is somehow defined by how many filthy snatches you've managed to con your diseased way into is exactly the attitude that Riddle Aces ought to be condemned for. It's not that you losers can't get laid, it's that once you've managed to prong some poor, unsuspecting chick, you don't have any idea what the hell to do with the rest of your lives. I've gotten laid enough. I'm not an NBA star, nor a Lothario, but I've stumbled my way around the block. An endless search for ass, however hot, isn't what life is about.

There are a lot dudes with a "Riddle Attitude" who never set foot in any kind of a pilot-mill. The "Riddle Attitude" of "maybe if I manage to get my hand on a jet I'll actually f'ing scorel, finally!" A'la Beavis is the problem, not where anyone did or didn't go to school. The "Top Gun" jokes apply to lots of dudes who never went to Riddle, and I'm sure that there are Riddle grads to whom it doesn't apply.

The real issues with which the adults who happen to be pilots have to deal is "Why are these jokers (regardless of where they went to school) the type of people who are attracted to our industry?" and "How do we make them go away?".

Riddle is just a school, and by all accounts a relatively good one, for what it is. The real problem is the "Riddle Ace", and paradoxically, that isn't exclusive to Riddle.

Big words, but the truest statement on this board.

Actually no I don't want to work at SWA. I've got enough time left on my commitment (and I plan to stay in as long as possible) for the industry to go through several more up and down cycles.
