US Airways has appointed Robert E. Martens as Senior Vice President and President, US Airways Express. In his new position, Martens, 61, will oversee the US Airways Express program, which consists of 2,300 daily flights and includes nine regional airlines. He will have direct oversight of the airlines’ two wholly owned regional subsidiaries, Piedmont Airlines and PSA Airlines, and will report to US Airways President Scott Kirby.

Does anyone know any dirt on this guy. what are we at in for with him?

He used to run Eagle...

He used to run around in the early 1990's holding "President's Conferences" like Crandall did at mainline. If I remember right, he modeled himself as a mini Crandall.

The highlight was big powerpoint slides showing pics of BA-146's and DC9-10's he'd get for the Eagle guys if APA would just see the light and quit being big meanies. More than a few flopped around the aisles with hooks deep in the upper jaws ;)

Just look at it this way, you're the diaper, he's the baby, you'll be treated as such. Just ignore or mute out any platitudes of teamwork or buddy-buddieness from the guy. It's just the nature of the beast.

Where's he been for the last few years? Feeding small live animals to the Pythons at some Zoo?

Enjoy

Good Luck. He is a real dik. Typical mgmt type that will smile as he shakes your hand and reaches in your pocket.

Keep your eyes open.
