I have very little respect for low time FO who make sweeping misleading comments about airlines. When you classify Airlines like Pinnacle, ASA,Colgan and Mesa in the same breath as Go jets it is annoying. espercially when I look at your status as a one airline guy hopefully with more than 2000 hrs. Look here son if your sorry ass ever makes it past your present position you will be flying with guys like us so watch your big mouth!!
 
Just curious, why does everyone consider Go Jet a scab airline? Alter-ego, yes. But I thought scabs were people who crossed picked lines, or non-union employees who take union jobs. Last I checked there was a very large non-union airline based in Utah that has been doing a lot of flying formerly held by union members at Air Wisconsin, ACA and United just to name a few. Why do people jump all over Go Jet but not mention Sky West? Not trying to start a flame war, it is a legitimate question as to the mindset of people here.

And no, I am not bashing Sky West either.

Airline Pilot Central has a note under the G Jet profile that says they have 35 more 700's on order.

Please tell me this is a mistake and those are just options.

There is a big part of it. GoJet was started to use against TSA pilots. The managment used the excuse that it was a scope issue with American. However, Republic has proved very well that was only an excuse. So that being said, the flying that should have been donw by pilots on the Trans States list. Instead it was sold out to the people who stand up proudly on this website but turn their badges around at the airport.

Scabs? Probably not but they certainly didn't help out anyone including themselves in the long run. Might I add TSA pilot were furloughed while GoJet continued to hire.
 
In any case, I won't be applying to Gojets or TSA for that matter. The fact that management won't pay for housing during training is the deal breaker for me, and that's as far as it needs to go.

Believe me, I understand why you guys are upset. And I am not defending the actions of GoJet pilots, management etc. But one could very easily say that GoJet, TransStates and Mesa are taking jobs that used to be held by pilots at ACA, Air Wisconsin and more specifically United itself. United furloughed while several express carriers were hiring pilots to fly the same routes in United colors. Last I checked non-union pilots from Sky West are flying United Express aircraft out of Aspen where ALPA pilots at Air Wisconsin used to fly. TransStates pilots are flying former American Eagle aircraft on American/Eagle routes in direct violation of Eagle scope. Air Wisconsin is hiring pilots to aircraft in USAirways colors on routes that used to be flown by mainline USAirways pilots now on furlough. The list could go on and on. The point is that we are all "stealing" jobs from other people. If you fly an RJ in United, American, Northwest or USAirways colors, you are guilty (myself included) of stealing jobs from mainline pilots who are now on furlough. To single one group out and apply a label to them that doesn't fit seems foolish when there is very clearly a large carrier out there that fits the definition perfectly and is for some reason given a free pass.

Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full there as well.

Go Jet was created out of thin air on the backs of another pilot group solely to screw them over. While many regionals are doing flying that mainline once, the company was not created solely to screw over another pilot group.

SkyWest doesn't really fall into this catagory either. While they are not union, they have not stolen any jobs since most of their pay rates are somewhat comparable to others out there.

The only other carrier that comes to mind quickly is the origional Freedom pilot group or the Freedom A lister's and that company was designed for the exact same effect. It worked at Mesa because those guys ate huge sh1t sandwich to get that flying.


So I beg to differ here. Just because another group gets flying that another did, it's the nature of the contact business. But when a holding comapny appears from nowhere and starts another list to hose their origional guy.... And people go hire on anyway even though they know whats happening, in my humble opinion, that's about as close to a scab as one can come without crossing a picket line.

That's COMPLETELY wrong. Mainline pilots are the ones who VOTED to give us the flying. THEY ruined our careers, not us. We didn't grow up dreaming to fly an RJ. I blame mainline pilots for the entire shift in flying. I wanted to be flying a B757 by now, not a damn E-170.
 
I work at GoJet 5 months ago at the time upgrade was around 3-4 months. Now from what I here the company has lowered there captain min to 2500 total. This means unless the company get growth (not likely to happen) your upgrade time is going to be around 1-2 years. Your better off at Skywest or other places. Don’t waste your time at TSA ether!

Go where ever the upgrade is fastest.

arguing over who flies for the best regional is like arguing over who went to the best junior college.....just bite the bullet and then get on with the majors

you are kind of right, but if all regionals are junior colleges, gojet is more like a junior college created out of nowhere to screw over your "umbrella" campus across town, and take away scholarships and credits awarded to the hard working students at the original jr. college, and make the indian president of the school more and more money.

dont know much about it, but didnt they offer tsa jobs? i think a bunch of tsa guys are over there now, even mgt

Man just a couple of months ago you were touting how good of a place GoJet was to work..............my how things have changed - got all that Hulie-Aid out of your system?

In the process of your education you have screwed over every TSA pilot and the industry as a whole. Now you will reap the "benefits" of GoJet emplyment on your resume for the rest of your aviation career.

yes they did offer TSA guys job, and the lowest forms of ******************************bags took the positions to leap frog the seniority list. What those guys did was wrong and they knew it and they still know it. The greatest thing about it all was when TSA furloughed, they were starting a new gojet new hire class. Classy move! Classy Move!

If you "don't know much about it," then SHUT THE F*CK UP. When you are a part of this industry, then you can spout off your opinions and expect to be taken seriously.

GoJets is the bottom of the barrel scum of this industry. This topic has been beat to death time and time again. It is not worth explaining why everyone feels this way. Do a frickin search and get informed. Or better yet, ask someone who worked for TSA when this shi*bag company was created, and get the real scoop.

To answer your question...........yes - what is your point?

Matter of fact almost identical MGT structure........ex:many MGRS at TSH is in the same position at BOTH companies...........

Inform yourself son.....
 
noonan has been posting on this site since spring of 2005, surely he would have heard the term GoJet before.
