Had Enough Yet (HEY)? - SPC Volunteers Needed!

To involve the CAL pilots from the beginning of the process, please consider volunteering your time and energy to help your fellow CAL pilots and profession by serving on the CAL ALPA Strategic Preparedness Committee (SPC).

The SPC will be a vital component in all future CAL ALPA communications, activities and initiatives, in support of our Negotiating Committee, MEC, and CAL pilots, as we move forward toward a quality Contract ‘08.

We are currently seeking pilots in all bases to serve on the Family Awareness, Pilot-To-Pilot (P2P), Special Project, and Strike Preparation committees. All volunteers will receive training.

If interested in helping secure a quality Contract ‘08, please contact one of the following chairmen at [email protected].

Family Awareness: Capt. Dan Gronstal
Pilot-To-Pilot: Capt. Mike Jones or Capt. Bill Sablesak
Special Projects: Capt. Marty Miller
Strike Preparation: Capt. Jayson Baron

Fraternally with very best regards,

Mike Jones - Bill Sablesak
SPC Chairmen

You know what in all honesty if we thought that way we would spend all of our time fighting with each other, been there and done that and it has gotten us no where. The only ones who succeed when we did that was management. Lorenzo was a master of one thing Divide and Conquer and many of the management teams that followed him!

Throughout the late eighties and early ninety's we all fought each other and that prevented us the ability to effectively organize. One of the first things Bethune did is move our employee numbers from large print in the front of our ID to small print in the back.

The consistency of our pilot group today is like never before in my twenty years here. We are unified we are ready to engage in a comprehensive contract campaign that will give our negotiators the ability to negotiate a real contract one similar to FEDEX.

If I didn't believe that I wouldn't be wasting my time as the Strike Preparedness Chairman. Only time will tell care to make a bet on the outcome of our contract 08 campaign?

Saw Dan today in the EWR crew room this afternoon. He was just finishing up his trip after having his last few reserve days rolled. Dohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel his pain. During my 18 month reserve experience they rolled my days almost every time they could.
